My understanding about property ownership is the same as monny's....You must be living on it. Also, you can keep a vehicle..and must have less than $2,000.00 in savings/cash on hand.

My question about what type of property was not clear. I meant, is it real estate, jewelry, vehicles, artwork, whatever, as all are considered property. It might even vary from state to state. For instance, welfare can only be drawn in this state for 5 years total. Once it is drawn for those five years, then you can never draw it ever again in your lifetime, no matter what state you might move to. In this state, you are allowed to have a vehicle of any value -- but only one. As for jewelry and personal property of value, there is no limit on that. I'll have to ask my aunt (who is a case worker), but I think that you are allowed to own two pieces of property as long as certain rules apply (they must be adjacent or they must be valued under a certain amount in total).
