Peach, don't forget the sexy nurse outfit. You know the tight fitting, white outfit with a short skirt and red cross on the chest. And you can't forget the hat...the WWI style, white hat with a red stripe on it.
You surely don't wear the teal green outfit do you <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

To think of where a nurses hands go, alot of the time, and who would want to even shake them. Well now, we wash our hands ten times more than docs do, so I will reverse that, I would rather shake another nurses hand than a docs anyday. Maybe a male nurse?? Darn I am a nurse in a nursing home..... NO hospital fun, I am truely missing out on that. All the docs that come in there are as old as the patients, and just about as senile. LOL

Nurses tend to be self sacrificing...working thru lunch...not going to bathroom until shift is done...we take care of other people and not ourselves. So I guess if someone understood your situation and showed a little attention it would go along way . Except I've never had an A or even been tempted (at work anyway). I am a nurse. Current BS and FWW. Hit the nail on the head.

Survey
BEHAVIOR Survey finds doctors behaving badly NEW YORK-Of course doctors know better, yet 3% of respondents to a recent survey said they smoke cigarettes. As reported in Medical Economics, an even higher percentage of the over 2,000 respondents-5%-like to light up a stogie. And among ob-gyns, the cigar-smoking rate rises to 7%. The authors didn’t try to figure out what that meant, but another survey finding could be relevant. While overall three out of four physicians polled said they were satisfied with their sex lives, ob-gyns were the least satisfied. Radiologists were the most. And of 12% of respondents who said they’d had extramarital affairs, 36% had them with nurses.

OK, haven't been around much for awhile, so why not? I'll play.
***************************** Sadly, It has all the elements needed in Abundant supply.
First, You have both sexes side by side, totally intermingled, working for Long Hours. Hence first criteria: Availability {to opposite sex} Not all professions have this built in (errrr) advantage .......at least not on these ratios.
Next, Medical field .....always learning always changing. Hence, Common ground and common interests .....that someone outside the field frankly gets tired of after a while. Or should I say us non medical personnel aren't as Eager or enthusiastic to chat about the new breakthroughs or procedures as they are with each other.
They also seem to develop a unique way of looking at things, that those outside can't always relate too. (you know, dealing with sickness, death, crouchy people --he, hee, he) So even more connection. The whole (He UNDERSTANDS [get's] me!) syndrome --- <gag>
Then, High stress ......as well as life and death issues. Which Causes bonding due to shared experience (the more intense, the tighter the bond)
Also, many times, due to need of 24/7 coverage, Causes disconnect from regular hours family and connect with same type hours coworkers.
In addition, odd / long hours make convenient excuses as far as going in early, stay late, deceptive "on call", ect,...
Then frankly the opportunities that especially a hospital environment enjoys, Such as: Locked rooms with ready made beds .......especially during any slow times. Cause there ain't many rooms available like that on an assembly line, construction site, or even office setting .......but in the hospital there are plenty.
Lastly, when dissecting infidelity --- Entitlement is usually a large part in the WS's thinking. Well, there is hardly a field that has larger Ego's or Larger personalities, then the medical field. Kind of have to KNOW -- that you know -- your sh*t, OR its hard to survive / get ahead.
Of course other factors play a part as well, but these are just some of the more obvious ones, that pray on those most at risk (who just may not have cheated being in another environment).
Then again, there are those that will NO matter where they are.
Of course not ALL go there, as they are neither vulnerable, weak or a predator. However, if your any of these .......this IS very fertile ground.

Peach here...ON CALL AT A SECOND HOSPITAL AND READING THIS CRAPOLA WHICH I'VE CUT AND PASTED...
cut and pasted from an uninformed writer above:
Also, many times, due to need of 24/7 coverage, Causes disconnect from regular hours family and connect with same type hours coworkers. HAPPENS IN ANY FIELD (PEACH HERE AGAIN)...and if people aren't supportive of their spouses (peach here also), it will HAPPEN TO ANY SPOUSE IN ANY PROFESSION...
In addition, odd / long hours make convenient excuses as far as going in early, stay late, deceptive "on call", ect,...peach here adding again: Sure wish I COULD MAKE MY CALL UP AS I AM ON CALL NOW WORKING AT YET A SECOND HOSPITAL WITH A RENAL PATIENT WHO HAS ALREADY LOST ONE KIDNEY...THANKLESS PROFESSIONAL HERE...
Then frankly the opportunities that especially a hospital environment enjoys,
Such as: Locked rooms with ready made beds .......especially during any slow times. Cause there ain't many rooms available like that on an assembly line, construction site, or even office setting .......but in the hospital there are plenty. (peach adds here: Wow! I didn't know that...only thought I could make a go of things in broom closets wtih hot interns) Wow...where'd that be? at my hospital, we are on overflow...NO LOCKED DOORS WITH MADE UP BEDS...BUT HERE WE HAVE UNINFORMED WRITER W/MADE UP STORIES! Funny...my xh used to find LOTS OF PLACES to have ilicit sex. you can have them anywhere you feel you are ENTITLED TO HAVE IT. Well maybe not on the widget assembly line...peach
Lastly, when dissecting infidelity --- Entitlement is usually a large part in the WS's thinking. Well, there is hardly a field that has larger Ego's or Larger personalities, then the medical field. Kind of have to KNOW -- that you know -- your sh*t, OR its hard to survive / get ahead. pEACH HERE:I KNOW MY S@IT....AND I SURVIVE...WITHOUT A GIANT EGO...BUT WITH A TIRED BODY. Biggest ego I've ever known: MY WAYWARD XH...non medical guy. THIS IS TOTAL CRAP!
The most "entitlement" I see going on is within business related fields.
Quit buying into the "grey's anatomy/er/general hospital" stereotype.
I TAKE MAJOR OFFENSE TO YOUR WORDS...as I type to you, I am helping somebody. Watching the function of a major organ...and I don't find what you say funny in the least.
GOTTA GO...I HAVE REAL WORK TO DO...
REAL WORK REAL WORK REAL WORK
and not in a da@n broomcloset.
also..i AM NOT A NURSE BTW.
