Are you just needing to restore to a certain point? Or are you wanting to completely reformat the hard drive? And what Operating system are you using..XP?

If it's XP, you have to take off ALL your peripherals... modem, printer, camera, whatever, or your computer will be really messed up. Then just follow the directions on your screen.

RookKev,
Mine would need to go back to 1998 and NEVER have gotten one in the first place! Might be in a whole other place if we had not gotten this thing.

Emma,
Do you have the restore disc's? If not you can order them online or by phone to your puter co. Is it a Compac or HP etc. You'll also need your model #, then just follow the instructions, just beware it will make it as it was just taking out of the box, All your stuff will be lost!!!!! Like Me he he <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Lostone

P.S. Like someone else posted you can also go back to a time when all was well and retore it from that point. (Windows XP)

I have been working on my computer too. I have XP & if you didn't already have system restore ON, you can't restore it back in time. If you go to the Control Panel and then choose Performance Maintenance you will see "system restore" in the left hand panel. Click on that to see if it is even on for your computer.

The problem with having it on is that if you catch a virus or something, and you go back in time you could be restoring a virus.

Not sure if that's 100% true, but I read it somewhere.....

Good Luck! I am trying to clean up my computer too. Do you need links to free spyware? MelodyLane put some links in one of my threads.

Have you gone to Microsoft.com? There is a free virus scan there as well.

Kim
