So there you have it...it is what it is. There are plenty others out there and hopefully one day I'll find the one meant for me. No need for my answer here , you got it all. I might add - so far you have&love&respect yourself, you are not alone.

I think the spark just isn't there. I have seen this happen time and time again, with my own experience included - meet someone online, like their picture and profile, start e-mailing and chatting, and whamo - you are infatuated. Then you meet them - and nada, zilch. That is why I was such a big wet blanket to you last December when you were saying that you "know" him and see every angle of him, due to your webcams and hours-long chats. I looked up what I said to you back then: until you meet a person in real life, you don't know them at all. I don't care what angle he aimed his webcam at, what jammies you wore, and which walls he showed you, you are missing a huge piece of the puzzle until you meet him.
What I meant with my example was that I met women with whom I had great e-mail chemistry, great phone chemistry, but when I met them - nada. And I felt like an idiot, because I was already developing feelings for them. And certainly if before we ever met we had already exchanged expensive presents or signed each other up for joint phone plans, it would have been extremely awkward, to say the least.
The fact that you both seem to be so gung ho about this before you even met raises a red flag for me, that's all. Now you see why I was harping on that. Alluring, I am not pulling a "told you so", I hope you know that. Just hoping that you learned a lesson in this experience, because you obviously invested lots of time and effort and emotion into this thing. Sorry it didn't turn out well, but I am glad to see your healthy outlook . AGG

I, for one, don't think chemistry has to be instant. Maybe a little patience is in order. But, having said that, the fact that he lives far away doesn't give you the kind of contact you'd need to have to know if chemistry can develop.

Thanks Belonging
AGG I agree whole heartedly with what you said back then. I know very well that it takes meeting in person to know for sure...and I now know for sure that...He isn't the one...and I'm okay with it. I'm sure there will be a few more that I'll be "gung-ho" for but that's part of the dating life. I'm not crushed though because this didn't work out. I didn't have as much invested as I think you think I did. I'm okay and that's the most awesome thing to come out of this. It's proven to me that I am truly okay with being alone or with someone. It doesn't take away from him...he's still a good person and I have nothing really negative to say about him.
I'm not fretting because things didn't work out with us. Life goes on and I'm still as happy as I was before he came here.
Nams, the distance didn't bother me at all. Everyone views "chemistry" differently and I am the type that can just tell whether it's there or not.
HUGS!
