see katiegirl...here's the irony..
I never said anything about hair size...being a nice polite northern gal..like myself...

it's all about texans and their need to shove their hair products upon everyone...

I bet if I go read my bottle of VAVOOOM hairs spray..bet I can guess where that company is located....

Yes, Mel. We are having some weather extremes. It is gonna come a de-freaking luge out here on Monday - they say it might rain 2 or even 3 inches!!!! (Back home it has to hit 4 inches to get classified as "rain" instead of "sprinkle"). And it has been very cold here. Without the heat on, it gets all the way down to 54 inside our house. (gonna start hanging meat in here.) Last summer we saw record heat. It got up to 89. (but only for a couple of days) (I remember going out into the garage to pack to move to Cali a couple of years ago. At 3 in the morning, it was 94 in my garage..)

Yep. Really suffering out here. And tomorrow morning - we are going out in a boat to watch the gray whales migrate back north with their young-uns.

Sorry. Saw the chance to rub it in - and - well - you know us Texans.....

Ahhh taking H back home to Texas in June. Cannot wait to see him dressed up in my great-grandfathers riding gear!!!! My Mom must aprove of him because she offered H my Great-grandaddy's cowboy hat to have!

Now if I can only survive the three and half years of proper bar-b-que withdrawl. I think no matter what time of day it is when I land in Houston we are driving to the nearest and best joint to have a fix of the sauce! And mom is going to kill a cow and have a huge bar-b-que in H and my honor for all the family, friends, town. My Mom can throw one great party on the ranch.

BTW Guns up from a Texas Tech allumni!!!!!!

foundareason...

don't get me wrong...it does sound lovely....

but so does a crisp autumn afternoon with the sun warming your face as the leaves dance about in an array of colors...

couldn't give up a snowy lazy Sunday morn...with a bird feeder full of cardinals blood red against the white snow...and a fire softly burning....

and would miss spring too much where you can smell and taste the promise of summer on each little breeze...

you can have that heat and sun 24/7...and while come march it sure does sound lovely around here...

but I think part of what makes it sound so lovely is because we thankfully DON'T always get the same old same old....

and note that while I 'get' you'll LOVE texas....

me I love trick or treating on a crisp night with a harvest moon full in your face...

enjoy the whales..it does sound spectacular...and blessed are you to see such a sight...

wish I was there for that one...

Ark - seems the whales must wait a week. Everyone is sick. Mrs. far had emergency oral surgery 5 hours after I booked the cruise.

All that you mentioned and more are the reasons I miss Texas. I have only seen lighting twice in the last two and a half YEARS.

I saw snow once - on the peaks in the distance - but it iced up and we rode sleds four months before we left Big D.

No Sonic. Chick-fil-a is 45 minutes away and hardly worth it.

NO BLUE BELL ICE CREAM.

You can run and hide from a tornado...

Yes - we actually ARE suffering just a little for our native dirt. The red stuff that sticks to your tires....

(melancholy memories float by..)

ML,

They do not even have McRib anymore. According to Mickey D's, this was its "Farewell Tour".

Oh, by the way, we are in West Texas now. Most of the folks I work with are major Red Raider fans (or alumni). Me, I am from deep southern Alabama originally. This is my link to Aggie-dom. Paul "Bear" Bryant was A&M's coach before moving on to his first heaven (UA). [color:"red"] ROLLLLLLLLLLLLL Tide! [/color]
