Oooooh, Bramble, that is a good thought...

OP seem to have such low expectations...they are willing to accept the crumbs, knowing they are an interloper into an R...they are either happy with the crumbs or figure they will get more in the future...only to be sorely disappointed.

Thanks, BrambleRose, StillHereMakingIt, and Alph.

Maybe STBX finally found his lowest common denominator? Can you tell I'm doing fractions with my class right now?

But it makes me wonder, why did he stay with me for so long?

I do thank God he left when he did, so I can eventually have a chance for happiness with a real man, instead of spending decades more with a serial cheater.

Pebbles, I didn't know that he had other affairs! When did you find this out? What a shock that must have been.

MelodyLane, it was definitely a shock. I found out early last summer. One of STBX's friends/old roommates called to check on me (and ask me out ) and let it slip that STBX had cheated while we were engaged. The friend thought I knew (ummm, no!). One of my in-laws told me that he mentioned he had another affair or affairs during our marriage (not sure how many). The in-laws apparently found out recently and did not know about the affair(s) at the time it/they was/were going on.

It does seem to run in the family, though. Two out of three of STBX's brothers are also cheaters - and are now married to former other women, and cheating on them from what I hear.

According to my MIL, STBX would not have had to cheat on me if I'd known how to properly take care of a man.

STBX was always very closed off emotionally. I always felt like I could never really get as close to him as I needed to be. I just thought he was the strong, silent, private type and had had a tough childhood. Turns out he was the weak, loyalty-divided, lying, cheating type with a tough childhood. From now on, I'll stick with what I really like, the nice, talkative, fun, no-secrets type (edited to add: with a non-psychotic family, LOL).

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

***Oh, MelodyLane, totally off topic, do you have the new TLTs? I adore them!!

Pebbles, what a shock that must have been to find out your life was never what it seemed! I am sad that it has come to this, but happy for you that you now know the truth about your own life. sheeeesh..

What are TLT's!! What have I missed here? I recently ordered Cathe's Gym Style series, which I really like and the Firms' re-release of 3 in 1 Bootcamp. I never had that one back when so I thought it might be fun to do it. DH built a big Nautilus machine in my gym and I am having a great time with it. Squats on a machine are KILLER because they ensure I have perfect form. OUCH! I can only do half as many squats on this machine and they just about kill me.

WAT, do you love your new eyes? DH had this done a few months back and is really loving it. I am blind as a bat, but unfortunately am NOT a candidate because my farsightedness is beyond what the machine can correct. So I was quite bummed about that.

Thanks, Gimble. Except for this cold, a stack of papers to be graded, and some overdue bills, I'm really doing okay. I hope you are well, too.

It is strange thinking back over the last 15+ years and wondering what, if anything, was actually real. There were some really good times...at least I think there were. You're right, though, it is good to know the truth about my own life. I do feel like a dork for being in the dark for so long. How stupid did I really have to be???

They are my new exercise looove! Tracie Long Training, functional fitness, using equipment such as paper plates (to slide on carpet), small medicine balls, a stability ball, and light-medium weights. They have all kinds of nifty balance moves and twisting, and rockin' music! They really hit the core and booty, even in the cardio parts. They're tough, but have a huge fun factor (at least for me). I traded for them on a fitness web site (you probably know the one). Although, I did take out a lightbulb in my ceiling fan with a medicine ball the other day, LOL.

Being a fellow vidiot and Catheite, I have the Gym Styles too. I traded for them, but have yet to take the shrink wrap off the DVDs. Your Nautilus sounds great.

Did you have LASIK? I had LASIK about six years ago. I was very nearsighted, at the limit of what they could correct. It's great to be able to see in the middle of the night! I could never do that when I wore contacts.

Ooooh, what should I do as part of the "new me?" The mind boggles.

WAT??? lol you goof!

Pebbles, I had no idea she made these workouts! What happened with her deal over at FitPrime? And Jen Carmen has left the Firm? WOW!

I will have to try and get these on the swap. My very first Firm was Tough Tape, and is still one of my all time favorites. I just love Tracy!

Loved the comments re what the OW looks like. I find the OW in my H life most interesting (not)! I have often said that I want some of what she's got 'cause I want to bottle it. I could make a fortune.

Oh no! Can't do that. What she has (and probably most others like her) is the inability to deal with her own issues so takes over someone else's H to lean on and completely stuffs up another relationship along the way. Lets NOT bottle that!

Pebs honey....are you sure we DIDN'T MARRY THE SAME WS?

lol!

my xh is almost like the long lost brother of yours...as my xh's sis even cheated on her H a few years back...and his dad cheated on his mom numerous times.

it's a giant loving (?) dysfunctional family...and my xmil said same thing to me...that I did not "back off enough of my xh or take good care enough of him"...wow! what advice huh? coming straight to me from a woman who NEVER had a faithful husband...just one too scared to leave b/c he'd be ostracized b/c he was a deacon in their church and would be given that darn scarlet A to wear upon his chest I'd assume?

you rock.

and yea, ugly is as ugly does.

life IS like a box of chocolates...and your xh just didn't know what he was gonna get...lol! he got the yucky one that you take a bite of, maybe chew once or twice, decide after a short while it's AWFUL, and then spit it out and hide the wrapper so nobody knows you took a piece of the candy!

MelodyLane, FitPrime made a deal with Women's Health and Fitness Network, which seems to be defunct (at least nothing's happening now). Tracie left and started her own company/gym and got into functional fitness. Jen Carmen and Susan Harris work with her at her new gym/studio, "V." Oh, Jen and Susan each lead one of the four new TLTs (Tracie leads the other two)!

Because I know you are a FIRMie, be warned...the TLTs are very unique. They are different from any other workout series I have (and I have a lot of workouts ). I think that's why I like them so much.

Aaahhh, the fascinating world of home exercise vidiocy. Everyone but ML and me probably nodded off before the second sentence.

ETA: ML, there are previews of the TLTs on the Collage Video site.
