I think it is human nature to take the easist possible route for anything. Humans by nature are very lazy, we spend more time trying to find ways to get out of doing uncomfortable things rather than just eating it. If we just eat it the first place - imagine the time we would save for enjoyment.

When ever we have a pain of any sort - it hurts. Our brain tells us we are hurting. We treat the pain as quickly as possible. We cannot tolerate pain of any kind - be it physical or emotional.

I would by far rather experience physical pain over emotional.

Break a leg... Brain says "it hurts fix it." - Get a cast, take demorol, and do a projection. Pretty confident the physical pain of a broken leg will cease in a month or two.

Our parents spent their lifetime teaching us all wrong from right. We have a consience which also teaches wrong from right. Wrong - right = Black - White... There is no Grey.

Sometimes we all get stuck in front of this huge wall. We are humans, too lazy to look completely around the wall and see two roads clearly marked - one going right and one going wrong. We can see just a small part of the one going wrong. It is easier to get to and it looks fun, lined w/ bags of chips. We don't think... wrong road is a dead end. Look to the other side and we see a pretty typical boring dirt road. We are lazy, so we don't care to know the end of the right road is Paradise... A place we all want to be when we are old.

Guilt is a pain. I think guilt has got to be worst. Guilt seems to include every possible form of emotional pain ever known.

Have the unbearable pain of Guilt... Brain says "it hurts fix it." "I didn't do it... wasn't my fault." Phhhew - pain of guilt is gone. How quick and easy was that?

Then comes the "Power of Denial"
