I heard that question many years ago on a game show.
I JUST CAN'T ANSWER IT and have never forgotten the question.
I am curious what others here at MB think???
It wouldn't be any fun if the fellow didn't love me. And it wouldn't be any fun if I didn't love him.

Someone who loved me, without a doubt.
I could learn to love them, in my own time. People who are genuinely in love are eager to find out and fill the ENs of their partner.

I am laughing; that is funny.
Well, I guess HE could be a hunter & a gatherer & a fire maker.
The thing is maybe he wants to kiss with her but she doesn't desire his kisses or maybe he doesn't desire her kisses but she wants to kiss with him.
Ummm, maybe they could just hunt food & eat and skip the romance?
Is it true that in a relationship, one person always loves more than the other? Is it ever equal?

[color:"purple"]If you were stranded on a deserted island, would you rather be with someone you loved or someone that loved you? [/color] The question doesn't ask if I loved them back...so the answer is: Someone that loves me!

I'd pick with someone I love. Sheesh, we're stranded, right? I'm sure they will learn to love me - given the choices...............

Doesn't matter!!! Whoever doesn't love the other will learn to love them....given the other choice is to live with someone you don't!! Everyone wants a loving relationship....and if you only have one choice....
PS...Grace..could you change your font color please!! Hard on the eyes!!

The answer to that is in an old calipso song: Marry the one who loves you!
Be excellent to each other and bless God.

I changed my post colors mywifeIlove. I was just trying to be FANCY.
I left my first post purple but it is BOLD so probably easy enough to read?
It sounds like you believe that love is a choice?
I guess in arranged marriages they learn to love one another.
I am still not sure which I would want on that island though: For the man I was with to love me? Or for me to love him?
My original question was one or the other but the conscensus seems to be that we could LEARN to love the other person over a period of time together.
I guess we are assuming here that both the people are PLEASANT to be around? LOL

I vote for the one who loves me. Of course, this is after 2 years of watching him love another when I loved him with all my heart.

Hmmm...if I remember correctly, this is just about how every Harlequin Romance played out. Yeah yeah yeah...I read them when I was in High School.
The guy always loved the girl...the girl "grew" to love him...and they lived happily ever after.
SO...my vote would be...stranded with a person that loved me.

I don't mean this response to be critical, but I have been feeling like I lived on a deserted island for months with someone who loves me that I do not love. I definitely don't recommend it. For me personally, even being there alone wouldn't work, because I don't love myself either. As you can tell, I have a pretty crappy outlike today. As my spouse, WAITING ON LOVE, told me this week, I am a very "negative person." It is true, I have a negative outlook on life in general, so it's really hard to see much of anything that is positive in our relationship.
Back to the question about the island, I would just like to sit on the beach in peace without having to fake feelings, put on a false smile and try to live life in public as if everything is wonderful. I am SOOOOO sick of that I could scream. Wish I could locate a deserted island, but since I am not allowed to go anywhere alone, I have no clue how I would get there!!!!

first ~~~> someone who loves me ... that way , they will joyfully get me food when I am really hungry ... a cabana boy works for me ...
second ~~~> neither one loving da' udder.... !!!! Instead, I wanna be stranded with Lemonman .... we'd have too much fun cussing like sailors and having belching contests and talking about gooey wounds and such ... PLUS, if I needed medical attention, he'd be a good man to have around, and visa versa
.... however ....if Lemonman is not available, or too cranky to get along wid .... I choose ARKIE ... for very similar reasons !!! LOL
I would NOT choose Susan, coz I'd want her back in the world trying to rescue my azz ... coz I know no other Queen as clever and as resourseful ....
Mel and I would prolly kill each other within a week ... and I suspect there'd be canibilism involved !!!!!
