Well, THAT made me smile!!!!

I love seeing my name in the title of a post! It makes me feel famous.

And of course, only my FRIENDS call me Slushy!

How am I?

Hmmm...emotions fairly in check these days. I'm learning how to balance them out, though it takes a lot of effort. You know me.

A little bored - Sgt. Patriot is at "Battle Assembly" this weekend, though I'm glad he comes home in the evening.

Excited - I spread my wings and began taking an Adobe Photoshop class. I want to be a photographer when I grow up. This class is SOOOOOOOO FFFUUUUUNNNNN! I don't want to quit my day job entirely, but I get tired of standing on my feet all the time.

Proud and nervous about the unknown - my "little" big girl is about to graduate from high school and my giant "baby" boy just got his driver's license. Things are getting ready to change around here. I'll adjust, but I dislike the interim when I KNOW things are about to change.

A little more comfortable and impatient - Patriot has been working on himself some in his spare time. He doesn't have as much spare time as we both wish he did, unfortunately, so it moves along at a slower pace than I'd prefer.

I read a vent he wrote in a notebook when I borrowed it to use for my class. It was dated almost a year ago, and it made me a little sad when I read it because it sounded like something he could have written last week and I wish our Recovery was further along.

I got intrigued and finally read some stuff about Enneagram, which I shared with Patriot. Though we don't use it like snake oil (little tribute to BobPure), it has given each of us some INCREDIBLE insight into what makes ourselves and each other tick. Understanding each other helps tremendously with compassion and empathy. It has really helped each of us understand our differences and provided alternative ways to respond to each other that are more effective.

Who knew I was so chatty today?

Thanks for inquiring after me.

How are YOU????

I unnderstand that! I used to want to be a photographer too. Hmmm...maybe I could squeeze in a class or too.

My ODS is still at home and going on 23! Change is stressful but good too, especially when you have done a good job with 'em. My DD is gonna be hard to let go off but she is only 13 right now so I have time to grow up too.

Comfortable is good! Long way from where you began.

Me? Doing ok. Still having loads of triggers and worries but a little better all the time. At least I don't think about D every moment of every day. Now it only crosses my mind a couple times a day.

Even if it's not for a career, it's still rewarding. If you don't have time for a class, there are other ways to learn. I could send you my textbook when I'm done with it.

I know what you mean about kids and change. DD18 has become SO AFFLICTED with Senioritis, if graduation doesn't come soon, I'm going to seek treatment (for ME)!!!

Graduation is 'spen-SIVE!!! It's a good thing Patriot is made of money. He's got it growin' on a tree out back (just kidding, Patriot)!

She and I are going to break him with the costs of announcements, prom dress, graduation party, Senior portraits, and her gift- Patriot bought her a laptop, but I got too excited about it and I TOLD HER! Geez, I hate it when I do that! I also "accidentally" told her what my parents were getting her - big girl pearls. She knows how to work me and I cracked under questioning.

Hey now! I didn't say comfortable...I said MORE comfortable! You trying to get me to say I'm doing well or sumpin'?

You say "triggers" like it's a BAD THING!
