Ghost! Hi!!!

I was lurking all over the place here yesterday and never saw this. I'm glad you bumped it up.

How am I doing? Well... hmmmm... still up and down, I'm afraid. Things just got really busy for me here at work, but here's the "Readers Digest" update:

Yesterday I had my first IC session in 3 weeks. It was a rough one. I've had, what I would consider, little breakthroughs. But I still have a long way to go. I can see some of my destructive habits and patterns more clearly now, as well as the 'reasons' behind them... but I still don't have the skills to change them.

As for my R with Mr. Cookie... well, he's just being soooo good to me and the girls. And I'm trying to be good to him too. I'm pretty consistent with that... not so consistent with the opening up stuff... but again, I just keep working on it. We actually had a good talk last night about what went on in my counseling session.

So onward and upward, I guess.

How about you. How are YOU doing??

HI!

i saw your post about your cowboy boots!!! lol, that was nice to read.

i am stubbornly still not back to IC, since before the holidays. i just don't think the IC i was going can help me right now.

i have good days and bad. i realize i still struggle with how i view myself some of the times.

i've been trying to communicate with DH more.

i still don't feel as safe as i wish i could feel with him.

but i'm working on it.

we get along fine, we are both nicer to each other than we historically have been, more considerate.

work is always busy, i am still working too many hours but when i am home i try hard to let all thoughts of work leave my brain. i don't check in from home as often, some days i don't even bring my laptop home so then i am unable to check in from home. and with the nice weather, i will be riding my bike more and then i can't transport the laptop

today was the first day i took my bike this season, i take the train and then have about 15 min ride to the office, and when i have the time, after work, i ride all the way home, it's about 20 miles, a very nice ride. i brought clothes today, in case i decide to do that, otherwise i just ride back to the train station and take that home. riding is very theraputic for me.

overall, i can't complain, i am doing much better than i was 2 short years ago. hard to believe it's been 2 yrs! it was the end of march 2004 when i first confessed, or i should say partially confessed. oct 2004 is when i let everything out.

it's been a long road but i do see how there has been much progess, i can see how the things i struggle with have progressed. if that makes any sense.

what you said about how you can see your patterns but don't have the skills yet. you will get there. i first had to see the patterns and understand myself better. i'm just now feeling like i'm starting to gain some skills to address and change my patterns.

how is Mr. Cookie doing with his own issues?

i'm really glad to hear from you!!!

Ghost,
You sound like you're doing pretty well... I'm glad.

You asked how Mr. Cookie is doing with his issues. Can't say that I really know for sure. As far as I can tell... none of the troubling BEHAVIORS have resumed... but it also does not appear that the underlying CAUSES have been addressed, if you know what I mean. So we'll see.

Thing is, it's okay... for now, anyway. I'm just glad he's giving me time to work on my problems. That's what I really need right now. As you know, I was planning to stop coming here for awhile... but just as I was about to quit... a new poster came along whose husband was addicted to porn and I got sucked back in.

Long Live The Bo Deans!

they will be in town on jun 10, tickets go on sale on apr 20, should i get you a ticket???

i guess i am doing ok, i mean, there are enough signs of good things, it's the other signs that bother me... there are signs that i am not doing all that great too.
