I would say it is very foggy talk if he is still in the fog.
Wacko talk if not. Double talk to try to make an excuse for his bad behavior. (or triple)!!
How long did you court before you married? And how long did he get to know the OW?
One other thought...when the male (or female) is courting and trying to make that impression we are very considerate.
