Here's one that actually worked for me years ago...

A girl had a couple wings left in her basket. Having had a little too much brew, I simply asked "Are you gonna eat those?" She laughed so hard I thought she was gonna fall off the stool...we ended up talking and having a grand time.

I usually avoid lines or scams...I find a simple, sincere introduction better- "Hi, I'm Low Orbit..." then get her to talk about herself by asking questions.

On more than one occasion I've been given the "Get lost, loser!" to which I reply "Did your mother teach you to be rude or have you perfected that habit on your own? Have a nice evening..."

Ladies...please avoid being unduly rude to a man who's trying. It only takes seeing her shoot one or two down in flames before you quickly get labled as an "ice queen" or worse. If you don't want to talk to a guy simply say, "I'm sorry, but I'm waiting on someone." Most of us get the hint. It's not a lie...you ARE waiting on someone...someone besides him...

The way I met my wife was I was in a little diner and she was having some scrambled eggs and I said: "Ah, I see you are having the scrambled chicken embryos". She was just a total stranger alone in a diner, but it turned out our backgrounds were identical. Grew up in the woods in small farming towns, undivorced parents, strong Church ties, etc.

Anyways my favorite was "you must be a cash register because I saw you checkin me out". :P

She said it was the most off the wall disgusting thing she had ever heard, but I was just like her childhood friends.

It's something they would have said to her to try and make her lose her dinner.

Talk about two worlds colliding.

A few weeks ago my twin brother flew down and we went to Home Depot and he hopped up on the register and told the checkout girl that he wanted her to check him out. She just laughed and turned beet red. My wife just busted out laughing at him.

A guy actually said this to me once: "So do you work here or do you just stand around and look good?" Worse, his friends later confirmed that was the guy's best effort to make a good impression.

I can't remember anyone using a pick up line on me.
I can remember stealing someone's stool a couple of times and then apologizing. He was an awesome kisser too.

And the best is, gentlemen can't do a darn thing. Then, if they're cute, you can offer to buy them a beer to make up for taking their stool. If they're interested and nice, they end up buying you a beer instead. Then, everyone's happy.
