Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with "the 19 steps a person will go through before physically consummating an emotional affair" as described by Gary Rosberg. I've seen references to these 19 steps in articles I've read, but no matter how hard I search, I can't seem to find a list of the actual 19 steps. I would greatly appreciate any help with this. Thank you!

Never heard of this.
But I'm skeptical just from the description. It suggests that there's something significant between an emotional vs physical affair.
I think it's more like one step:
Do I like the way this person makes me feel? Yes or no.
No friggin' way does an alien abductee process 19 thoughts - unless all 19 of them are ME, ME, ME, ME.......!

OFR,
I've done a search on the Internet with the keywords "Gary Rosberg" and "19 steps" and the only information I could find on this was the following:
[color:"blue"]Gary Rosberg of America's Family Coaches states that there are at least 19 stages a person will pass through on the way to physically consummating an extramarital affair. There are at least two important notions that we can lift from Rosberg's statement:
1) At each and every one of the 19 steps, you have a clear choice between going further down or stopping the process. In other words, these things don't "just happen." 2) An affair - by the way, I hate that term!
It makes it sound like it is this wonderful experience with no consequences ... as in "It was a grand affair." In my marital counseling and relationship coaching experience, adultery breaks up marriages, wrecks families and crushes kids.
Anyway, now that my rant is over, an affair becomes adultery long before the physical act. In fact, emotional affairs can be stronger and more difficult to get out of than physical affairs.[/color]
I couldn't find the actual 19 steps itself, but I do think these steps will be similar or identical to the steps in the link I've provided in my previous post.
