Can tape recordings be used in court? One attorney said yes. Another attorney said the other lied to me thinking I was stupid and wanted me paranoid so I'd pay her more. True she wanted to charge double the one guy. I fired an attorney months ago that triple billed me - saying he called when he didn't, and billed me at his rate for his secretary's time. I'm not stupid I'm just tired, I wish I could get this evil divorce over with but the attorneys are more evil then my own husband. All they want is their retainer fees before they'll even answer questions and before I can even figure out if they will represent me or not.
Today I was paranoid that my husband was recording calls, he always does this "crying thing" on the phone, and then he says he's seen his child more then he has since he left the state. He's seen his son twice in eight months. Today he said I lied and that he's seen him more then that and it'll 'catch up with me.' He's said that before. I had a mediator say that she's seen judges get upset if someone has really withheld the child and then they'll rule more in favor of the fathers. Also since he makes a lot of money, he could be saying he's seen his child more then he has to lower the child support payments saying he has to travel from another state - thus has costs invoived. He didnt' pay child support for a year until I filed a divorce and he loves his money and doesn't want to pay.
Also I found on his email that he reserved hotel rooms although he didn't show up several times. He had flights to my state but went to a ball game instead of seeing his child, and lied to me saying he couldn't get time off work. Twice he backed out of coming but didn't see on his email that he cancilled the hotel reservations. I was thinking - as he has a history of being deceptive - that he was trying to prove he's seen his son more then he has. He lies at his job, saying he's going to see his wife an child, takes time off I know from his email. It's made me realize he's a liar and I'm a little on the paranoid side at this point.
What could he be up to? My mom must be right, this man can't be trusted... he scares me. He got violent in our marriage and I left him 1-1/2 years ago finally. I need to finish this case.
