[color:"purple"]I came up good by googling men's retreat. Try it. Oh, BTW, "all male" must include a "- nude" boolean.

JE,

What gives? We need more specifics! Is this post about inequality or you just needing to get away, or have you recently been dumped and are in a bad place about women??

I didn't get dumped.

Why is more info needed? What is there that can't be understood?

Isn't it OK for a guy to want to spend time with the guys and away from women for a while? There is no agenda other than the one I have stated.

well justin, do you have a group of guy friends you can just hang out with? i am not sure why you are having a hard time finding places to hang where there are no women. I am not trying to be sarcastic, so please don't take it the wrong way. do you golf? anything you can join the is "guy" related, i.e. fire dept, rescue, something like that. i see no problem with your question and i see no "alterior" motive.. I enjoy my time with "just the girls" so i can see you wanting some time with "just the guys"... no big... i totally get that. are you in a metropolitan area? i know some places have gentlemens clubs (and i don't mean strip joints either!) i mean clubs just for men where they play cards, gamble, talk, have a drink, etc... no women. my friend's husband works at one. do you have a gun? ever wanted to learn how to shoot one? that's a good guy thing..

good luck, i'm not a guy so i may not have been much help... mlhb

Or you could invite a bunch of nerds over to watch anime. Whenever I've done that, only males show up.

Not only is it OK, it's healthy to want to spend time away from women and be with the guys. Most MATURE people in relationships, whether male or female, don't want to be "clung to" 24/7. JMO

C'mon JE, of course it's ok, but you have to admit, your subject header "Where do we guys hide when we want to get away from women?" doesn't exactly sound so simple as you are now implying. Can't blame us for reading into it.....

<shrug>

Anyhoo, there is plenty out there for you to do w/o women around.

What do you like to do? Read? Sports? Hunting? Without knowing anything of your interests, how can we make suggestions?

Maybe some of the guys can jump in here??

Where do guys go to hide from women?

Hmmm I can only suggest what BF does, he goes to the garage where he gets his trucks serviced for work, he goes to barber shop, he goes to the local hunting and fishing store with friends. He goes hunting, fishing, and away on some weekends to watch races with his male buddies.

Last weekend while my girls and I were at the mother daughter tea party, he went fishing with my boys.

Why is more information needed? For me it's because I have a hard time understanding why an adult male needs to hide from anyone to have time with other guys...away from women. If you want to "get away" from women, you're implying women are pursuing you, you don't like it, and you can't stop it. If this is the case, why aren't you addressing the issue directly instead of hiding like a child?

If it's getting away from having any women in your environment, what's wrong with your home?? You're in the "After Divorce" forum. Do you live on your own? If you're in a relationship, what is going on that you can't just state your need for time with the guys?

I had no problem with my husband wanting time with just the guys. Nor did he have a problem with me spending time with the "girls". If it was a pattern that excluded large amounts of time together, I might have some concerns. But, I would raise the concerns with my partner. Not "hide".

Are you asking for suggestions...as some here have provided...as to some possible all male activities/locations? Again, why phrase it as "hiding" to get away from women? Cripes, plan a fishing trip that flies in somewhere where you and your buddies are the only ones in the wilderness area (my ex and pals would fly into a site in Canada), if this is the kind of hiding from women you're talking about.

You set your limits as to who shares your space. If someone intrudes, than deal with the issue of intrusion and their lack of respecting your wants/needs. Use a POJA on the situation if you're using MB techniques.

Why more information? As you can see, suggestions can vary for different types of concerns and situations. If this is the way you typically communicate, maybe that's why you feel the need to "hide" instead of working something out.

I know why he wants to hide from women. We talk too much. LOL. We're around so much.

So, JE, what are your interests? Do you like hunting, fishing, etc? Do you like working on cars? How about driving a tractor? I know there are some men's drumming circles out there. Some basketball groups. Weight lifting.

Are you looking to escape women for a time, or are you looking to make some friends? That makes a difference too.

I go to Canada with a few fishing buddies a few weeks a year. It is nice sometimes to be away from the . . . choosing words carefully here . . . complications that seem to be attached to my interactions with women/wife.

Sometimes it is nice to be: unshaven, unbathed. To smoke cigars and drink really expensive scotch without hearing about it.

After a week of debauchery I am recharged and ready to return home, usually. Actually, I begin to miss my wife after the second day or so.

I have a woodshop at home and if I need a little alone time I just turn on the radial arm saw . . . that seems to clear the room pretty quick.

Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I will try some. I love the gals, but at times it nice to be able to not have them around.

The expensive Scotch sounds like a great idea. It's been a while since I have had some.

I don't know what your looking for either.

I know our church offers a Men's Prayer breakfast, they just had a Mens weekend retreat, they have a Men's Bible Study once a week.

I don't know where you live, but here they do have a Men's only gym, just like they have Curves for women.

My brother in law and my nephew go to football games and Nascar events together, with a group of their friends father and sons only.

Maybe if you look around in your community you may find some things that appeal to you.
