My WH and I belonged to all kinds of bike groups, and we spent most weekends riding. He had been dreaming of buying the anniversary year Harley for years. We rode around on a 1973 Shovelhead - old, but it got us places.

We used to go to the Laughlin River Run every year, Sturgis, Hollister, etc.

I don't know if you have a HOG group near you, but we belonged to that too. We met lots of wonderful people there. They go to dinners, poker runs, and activities together. In our group there was always someone going to Alaska, Florida, and even South America!

I rode on the new one exactly once. I think he got his new bike and new woman in the same week.

Thanks for posting back. H wants me to say that we belong to the national HOG chapter (still waiting on the stuff in the mail), but we're not sure about the local chapter. We try to ride every weekend but you know Louisiana weather! LOL We're been on one poker run, and you are right. There are some extremely wonderful people, who were helping a friend of our raise money for a kidney transplant. We have a wondeful time!

H wants to know "So, you were a passanger, you don't want to get one of your own?"

H has dreamed about going to Stugis, daytona, biketoberfest, bike week, etc.

I'm sorry that you didn't get to enjoy the new bike, but I'm sure the guy you gave it to is!

How are you doing?

We rode with the Christian Motorcycle Association, Vietnam Vets, HOG, Wind and Fire (firemen), and ABATE. It seems like there is always someone planning something.

I would love to go to Daytona and ride through the Florida Keys, but never made it.

My WH made a trailer for the bike, and we decorated it and rode all of our kids in the Christmas parades.

I know Eav. You must have read my post a couple of years ago. That is exactly what my WH told my neighbor, and she told me.

I have ridden thousands of miles, cooked gallons of chili, collected toys, run the kids games at rallies, had hundreds of bikers stay at our home. Of course, I had 2 boys, and he had 4 kids, and 2 step-kids that I had to feed and nurture too.

The OW abandoned her 12 year old daughter to ride off into the sunset with WH.

No, NC, not on a big bike. But we do have a Triumph, and 5 dirtbikes that I ride.

Cool, I'll let H know! I'm trying to get him interested in the site. Maybe sign up for his own name!

OW with my H left her 4 children (6, 9, 15, 16) to be with my H

now i don't know if any of them are living in the HUD house my H bought for OW or not....but she left them over a year ago

While on subject, my little *biker* story.

When my FWH or Wh or H (who knows)and I first hooked up, him being a *biker*, we went to a biker bar on a Friday night. After having a ton of fun, I somehow lost my purse in the parking lot.

Oh great, not only credit cards and $$, but my favorite purse. We went back there the next day, Sat. and looked around outside for it. Looking and looking.... just hoping to at least find the empty purse.

A guy walking into the bar asked us what we were doing. We said we were looking for my purse. He asked us what color it was, I said black. And he said ~~ there is a black purse sitting on the cash register in the bar !!!

Yep, my purse was sitting on the cash register in the biker bar completely UNTOUCHED !!! everything was inside.

Two weeks later a friend of mine had her purse stoled IN CHURCH when she went up for communion !!!

Yep - Bikers are good people, except for the 1%. We have been to the Laughlin River Run every year for about 15 years. The only problem I ever had was when the ******'s Angels and Mongols got into it one year.

Luckily we were staying down the river, and not at the hotel where they were. They had a shoot-out in the gambling area. But that was only a handful out of over 100,000 bikers.

We always took our kids to many of the rallies. Since we had so many, I drove our van. We bought a trailer, and I was the "pick-up" person, stopping for people broken down along the way.

At the rallies I liked to do activities for kids during the bike games. We made necklaces, bracelets, and all kinds of crafts, had sack races, scavenger hunts, told ghost stories around the campfire, etc.

More and more folks with families and getting motorcycles, and it is turning into a family-friendly activity.

We have a Harley - Dyna Wide Glide.

One consolation I have is that OW and 2nd EXW both hate motorcycles.

WH bought a small cycle for me a few years back. We trailered both bikes out in the country and I "tried" to ride it. I actually did but was scared to death!!! I just couldn't get the hang of cornering. The bike was short but knd of wide and I was so afraid of dropping it. He cursed me out that day. Made me cry. Called me all sorts of names. Mind you, I was trying to do something he wanted me to do; I never asked for the bike - I actually asked him NOT to buy it. He didn't listen. We eventually sold it.

I think I was a much better passenger than driver.

I really love to ride as long as it's not too hot and we're not in heavy traffic.

We belonged to a Christian association and did a lot of stuff w/kids in mind. Lots of troubled teen stuff, toy runs, etc.

Our association w/that kind of fizzled just like our marriage did.


He hardly ever rides anymore and says he's going to sell it and give me the $. Yeah, right. Not that I want him to cause I don't.

He had to have that bike. When we got married he had a late 80s Honda 900. From there his dream bike was a Honda V65. Sold the 900 and got the V65. Then, when we joined the Christian group everybody else had a Harley so his "dream" cycle changed. Had to have a Harley. So, the year we started our first company and he made about $8k that year we got our first Harley. Did I agree? No, but going along w/was easier.

I like to ride dirt bikes - but only want to be a passenger on the big bikes. There are tons of women that ride here in California, and on big bikes. More power to them. I love to see women on their own bike.

But I have seen several women drop their bike. I saw two when we rode down to Ensenada, Mexico. They have toll roads, and you stop and pay at the toll booth. Well, apparently there is a lot of oil on the road right there, and it is very SLIPPERY.

I would be mortified to drop my bike, and have to get several men to help me get it back up.

I love dirt bikes, too. We've had a few w/WH and SS. I'm short and not very strong (in many ways apparently). <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

We have quite a few here as well who own their own bikes. I have a couple of friends who did but their H's made them give 'em up.

I have had dreams where I dropped the Harley. I always woke up before he beat me up though. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I love old cars, too. Grew up in the early 70s and love old muscle cars. I love the new Mustangs, too. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
