Gotta agree about the DH. I think we stopped using DH in "Mighty-Mites."

"I'm just really good at remembering incredibly stupid, trivial things that do nothing to better my life" Oh my god me too!!!!

I have nobody that will play trivial pursuit with me. We played one time as couples and my FWW just sat and watched. We had all 6 wedges to their one. Then they played 3 on 1 me being the 1 and they got 3 wedges before I won the game. The last question for me was what did S.A.L.T stand for (strategic arms limitation treaty) and they were high fiving each other until I answered the question correctly. How the heck did I know that. LOL. Wish I could replace that with some stuff that mattered. I have a phd in bs trivia. LOL.

As far as the sports thing I have created an addict. My 6 year old son is addicted. We were sitting at my oldest sons show last night and I thought the Heat Pistons game was on. He informed me it was dallas suns. Gave me the schedule and who was ahead in the series. The people behind us were laughing their butts off.

One day I walked out and I asked what he was watching and he said womens college basketball. I laughed. Now I have a reason to watch more sports. Yeah. Whenever the Yankees play he wants to watch it, same with the Lakers and the NY Football Giants.

SALT would have been easy...I would have struggled for the exact wording for the START talks (since we always used to joke about them being the STOP talks).

I also am a Jeopardy, Trivial Pursuit nut. No one will play for me. During the hurricanes of last year, and the year before, when we were all sitting around for weeks without power, I'd cajole all into a round of "Trivial Pursuit for beer" where the loser must also down a bunch of alcohol for an incorrect answer. Given that I could drink more than most, the scores got pretty rediculous.

Regarding sports nuts...both of my kids are already fanatics. My DD9 can espouse on the finer points of the defensive secondary, and can tell everyone why the Florida Seminoles are a bunch of cheaters. (Have to teach her early.) I had her at her first Gator basketball game when she was 4 weeks old.

My DS5 loves to watch PGA with me...and can quickly identify Tiger (and his Nike logo'd ball), Chris DiMarco (a fellow Gator alum), Phil Mickelson (because he's left handed like me) and Vijay Singh (because he got caught cheating on the Asian Tour back in the day).

I always try to identify the cheaters! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> Wonder if it's in my blood. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Alas, my FWH does not share my love of the game(s), and has to scowl from the sidelines as the kids and I get caught up in a good match. We don't limit ourselves to spectator sports, but it's a great way to learn the rules and spot those who don't follow them!

LOL My FWW could care less about sports.

When we first started dating I used to watch every Football game with my buddies. It was our weekly ritual. She used to go with me and actually make us food. Now I can barely watch a game. LOL. Isn't that bait and switch.

I like the rules thing too because I have always said if you have to cheat to win then you didn't win.

My trivial pursuit game is gathering dust. Sometimes we take the cards out to the pool and quiz each other but thats it.

I like the new show Cash Cab which is like Jeopardy in a cab.

My youngest actually made the allstar team this year for baseball and he had a broken arm for the first 9 weeks of the season. His catching arm. He played first because he had the best glove in the league.(coaches words not mine)

Thank god for sports.

Love the comment about cheating in sports. I was listening this morning about how folks have been so quiet about Barry (the baby) Bonds' record-breaking homerun. Many sportswriters are hoping he'll just go away quietly because he's bringing so much shame to what used to be such a fun sport. Personally, after his theatrics last year where he paraded his little boy out with him to the press conferences to play the "Woe is me" card, I'll never watch him play again.

I feel bad when I hear about Mortarman's predicament where his WW plans to take his kids out of town during their tournament time. She's obviously got a serious character flaw if she can't understand how important it is to play the FULL SEASON, and DON'T CHEAT. (Well, I WAS talking about sports, but I guess in her case, it's also in other arenas.) I don't think I could take that. If my FWH tried to keep my kids away from their sports, I'd go NUTS!!
