With Father's Day coming up this Sunday, just wanted to start a thread to get some ideas of gifts for my H and also hear other stories about some gifts people have given or received.

Anyone have any ideas?

I had a crucifix cleaned and got a new chain for it. The crucifix belonged to my grandmother.

How about a promise that you will NEVER subject your DD to anything remotely close to what you did recently?!

OOOOHHH!

Wonder if it'd work on a Wookie.

He's tried so many different razors!

I say try to get them something they like.

For example I like to get massges thats what I am getting.
Not sneaky enough to not put it on the debit card. LOL

I think the more thought the better.
I know it sounds cheezy but a gift card to their favorite store is great too. Didn't know exactly whay you needed but I know you need something.

I like the razor. Do you have to get replacement blades every so often? How does that work?

I don't feel your personal attack is appropriate here. There is a way to talk to me about things and this isn't one of them !

Funny!

I was thinking of a gift card too but I don't know where to get it to. For instance, we like to get ice-cream and go to movies together but if I get him a gift card at any of those places, that will be to my benefit too. Wait a minute, what's wrong with that !

Cheated that is cheating. LOL

What else does he like to do. Fishing, bowling what. Get him a gift card to a place like that.

It's like getting a woman a vacuum for mothers day. LOL

Yeah, it's the good old fashioned saftey razor blades, though. Probably your father or grandfather had that kind of razor. The top comes apart and you place a blade in there, and put it back together.

I used to always get my WH a gift certificate to Home Depot or Lowes. He loved looking at all of the new tools he could get.

One year I got him a ride in a glider, which he really enjoyed.

My DS made a card today for WH. I am going to let him choose the gift.

My DD and I always (okay have done it 2 times now) make him a fun shirt. Last year, it said I love dadday on the front withh her little footprint and on the back right under the neck it has 2 little footprints of Mia's and under that in tiny letters said Mia '05...

This year we are doing the same front and on the back we are doing, "He lets me walk all over him" with tons of Mia's little footprints all over it...

Corny, I know, but I love doing it. I feel it may mean more to me than to H, but it is fun for me and for Mia...

Good Luck...

This year we are taking daddy to a show on Friday night to see an Irish perfomer that we all love and then a MLB game on Saturday night. Sunday will be travel home for youngest DD's softball tourney...
A nice weekend spending it as a family enjoying what Dad loves; music and sports!

My kids would pick something out that they want too ! I know them oh so well ! I think mine are still a little too young (8 and 4). That is a good idea for when they get older though!

Alison,

That is a cute idea. I want to do something creative like that but not a t-shirt. I think he would lose it . For Valentine's Day I got wood picture frames and let the kids decorate them and pick one of their pictures to put in it. I want to do something like that again, but what??

The only thing he's really passionate about are the Oakland Raiders. He has so many t-shirts of them and gadgets.

I could get him a gift card to a store he gets stuff from (I won't mention it in case he reads this). I just wanted to do something different and unique.

You know what else is cool.

Take a picture of your kids and put it in one of those father frames. Real easy now with Digital camera's.

Most men have pictures that are so old their kids don't even look that way anymore. LOL

just wanted to start a thread to get some ideas of gifts for my H and also hear other stories about some gifts people have given or received.

The perfect gift would be a Montblanc 149 Fountain Pen with an Extra Fine Nib. I gave that last year....."best gift I have ever received" was the remark after opening it.

Simply an amazing pen.
