I have read your posts and was wondering if you could help.

Married many years and have just recently started getting the you've been slected to enjoy Playboy type of cards. We haven't received them before until recently. Haven't seen any porn on computer except for about 7 years ago once. Was told he wanted to see how easy it was for kids to access online even though were not online at that time. Said the guys were talking about it. That was last time.

Does Playboy send those things out without any info?

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm going to say that Playboy is probably pretty reputable in that they wouldn't send out something without someone giving them your email address. The only time I see them advertise publically is in something like Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes with a small stamp for a discounted price on their magazine.

Sometimes there are these fake offers people signup for that get them included on porn lists, you have to watch out for those. Or you go to a site and it asks for your email address to get entry and then they have it to send you info later on.

What did his comment "Was told he wanted to see how easy it was for kids to access online even though were not online at that time" mean?

The card was mailed to our home address.

The comment that he made was what he said when I asked him what he was doing on the computer. He said it was to check out how easy it was for our kids to access. The only problem with that was that our kids were to young to be on the internet at the time. Even now they are monitored when they are on and are never allowed on when we are not home.

Sorry that statement was confusing.

I understand now......I'm guessing he filled in the information for your home. Maybe there was some type of sweepstakes or an offer to receive the cards.

What you do when you get something pornographic in the mail that you do not want, and usually it's obvious because it says sexually explicit material stamped on the outside, you take it and write "ADDRESSEE REFUSES, RETURN TO SENDER, REMOVE FROM MAILING LIST IMMEDIATELY". Then you drop it back in a mailbox to send back.

As long as you don't open it, the post office will return the envelop, and make the sender pay another postage. It does not take them but once to get the idea to take you off their mailing list.

Also, you can go to the post office and fill in a form that will exclude you from receiving any pornographic material. If you want to ensure your husband does not get any, that is one way to do it.

He has never entered sweepstakes before. But I imagine there is alwasy a first time.

Any other way to receive those type of cards?

I never have gotten them, but maybe someone else who has can chime in and say how they got them. So without either submitting an online form, or sending in a postcard or someone calling to make an offer, I can't imagine Playboy sending something out. Like I said, they are usually reputable in the way they handle things because they want to present a good image to the public, where some of the others don't care. Playboy is run by Hugh Hefner's daughter and she is always concerned about appearance of the company.
