Sometimes the catching is, too.

dont know what this is about, but I worked for a sales company once, their motto was...

[color:"blue"] Get a man a fish, he'll know where to come for fish. Teach a man to fish and you've destroyed your client base.

I saw a 90 year old patient Tuesday ... and she looked 60

I asked her what her "secret" for youth is ...

she said

[color:"blue"] I like to fish

she made me smile

Pep - three weeks from today I go with a bunch of guys (including my son, bro, and Dad) to Canada to one of those float plane fly-in fish camps. 8 days of wallies, smallies, pike, muskie, and cheaper Crown Royal.

Heard they got big skeeters up there, though.

Mad Magazine once ran one of it's "snappy answers 2 s2pid 2uestions" things many moons ago, in which a geezer was asked:

"2 what do you owe your long life 2?"

"2 the fact that I haven't died yet."

And then there's:

"Build a man a fire, and you'll keep him warm for a night, but set a man on fire and you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life!"

As for fishing... I'm planning on putting a worm in the water up around Puffer Lake over the 4th.

Our DD was about 5 when we 2k her up there fishing for the first time (she was the cutest 5-yr old that ever lived, I swear!). She was excited about baiting the hooks and throwing out the line, but when she caught the first fish and we helped her reel it in, she cried when she realized we were going 2 kill it and eat it for dinner.

I felt awful!

But she wants 2 go and do it all again! (of course, she'll be 27 in July)...

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.

Ark, LOL...teach a man to fish..he will sit on a dock all day drinking beer....

Matter of fact I'm going flounder fishing tomorrow. I'm wishing for a doormat.

I will never look young.

I love to fish and catch 'em, but I do NOT like to eat anything that tastes fishy!

OMGoodness! My H LIVES to fish!!

A HUGE deposit in the love bank when I go with him. I lay on the boat, read and eat sunflower seeds while he fishes. Every once in awhile he'll holler "Hon!! Look at THAT! The huge one right there!" (pointing wayyy down in the lake)

I look over the boat edge and see mucky water. "I don't see it Hon."

"Babe!! It's RIGHT THERE, by that tree branch."
I still see nothing.
Finally, after MUCH urging, I lie and say "Oh yeah Hon. That's a big one! Why don't you get that!"

He's quiet for awhile trying....

I go back to reading my book,,,,,

Michelle - Hope you get a nice "welcome"!

When I was a kid we used to catch 'em doormat size in The Bay. That's a rare event now.

Where do you fish?

The Fishin' Hole-Theme from The Andy Griffith Show

Well, now, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole,
We may not get a bite all day, but don't you rush away.

What a great place to rest your bones and mighty fine for skippin' stones,
You'll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin' in the shade.

Whether it's hot, whether it's cool, oh what a spot for whistlin' like a fool.

What a fine day to take a stroll and wander by The Fishin' Hole,
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

We'll have no need to call the roll when we get to The Fishin' Hole,
There'll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey, to doodle time away.

If we don't hook a perch or bass, we'll cool our toes in dewy grass,
Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw.

Hangin' around, takin' our ease, watchin' that hound a-scratchin' at his fleas.

Come on, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole,
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

Now, only us true, real, good southe'n, card-carrying, dyed-in-the-wool rednecks know that the theme from The Andy Griffith Show actually had words, an t'wasn't jest a bunch a whistlin'...

My home stomping grounds. Cool!

Spent many, many good times on those waters. Lived on the Va. Beach oceanfront for almost 10 years back in the 70s and 80s. Have many close friends there.

Are you calling me a horse? I'm okay with that. After all, nikko called me a [censored] so horse is actually an improvement. Thanks!
