My H has favorite tunes that remind him of her and vice versa. I'd like to get some CDs that might help bring some of his focus home. Any ideas music buffs? Your ideas might be good to share with all. Music is so powerful at expressing emotions. Thanks for sharing! Jenn
------------------
"I Still Believe in You" by Vince Gill and "When I Said I Do" by Clint Black are two very beautiful songs about having not lost the commitment even after trials and tribulations.

The album "Stories from the Heart" by Bob Carlisle. He's the guy who did "Butterfly Kisses" which was nice but kinda hokey too! (Don't blast me just my opinion. They played the heck out of it on the radio.) This album is full of hope, spirit, romance and I really like it. Played it a lot when I first got that fated phone call.
Let me know how you like it?
------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha
My H and I like to listen to "Still The One" by Shania Twain.
We also like "I Still Believe in You" by Vince Gill, "Your Love Amazes Me" by John Berry and "Nothin But Love Standing In The Way" by the Wilkinsons
Music has had a big affect on me since this journey began. I really feel the story of the song now.
[This message has been edited by Taz (edited October 03, 1999).]

I know what yu are going through.
My H had songs that reminded him of her, I broke the CD's, fit of anger, but they are gone [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]!
Our favorite became The Barenaked Ladies. The lyrics ar really thoughtful, and if you really discect them, you can tell they have "been there, done that". "nutshell" is a good song, and there are others. Just our personal favorites.
There is a song from their album "Stunt" called Call and Answer. I'll write you the words. Welik it because of it's lyrics and great tune.
Call and Answer by Barenaked Ladies
I think it's getting to the point
where I can almost be myself again
I think it's getting to th point
where we have almost made ammends
I think it's the getting to the point
that is the hardest part
and if you call, I will answer
and if you fall, I'll pick you up
and if you court this disaster
I'll point you home
You think I only think about you
when we're both in the same room
You think I'm only here to witness
the remains of love exhumed
You think we're here to play
a game of who loves more than whom
and if you call, I will answer
and if you fall, I'll pick you up
and if you court this disaster
I'll point you home
You think it's only fair to do what's best for you and you alone
You think it's only fair to do the same to me
when you're not home
I think it's time to make this something that is more than only fair
so if you call, I will answer
and if you fall, I'll pick you up
and if you court this disaster
I'll point you home
But I'm warning you, don't ever do
those crazy messed-up things that you do
If you ever do,
I'll promise you I'll be the first to crucify you
Now it's time to prove that you've come back here to rebuild....rebuild....rebuild
*************
Hope you like it. It is one of our favorites. Not to sappy, and tons of other just good fun music!
------------------
You will be stronger because of this.

Suzy Q,
You know how we are all reminded of OP. Well Rod Stewart is my husband's OW favorite. They even had plans to go to his concert together. I used to really love Stewart. I even came across several of his old albums, and I mean really albums...the kind you play at 33 1/3 speed on a turn table. Now the mere mention of him or hearing his music kills me. Especially "Have I told you lately that I love you?" It makes me break down in tears every time. I have been in Kmart on 4 seperate occassions and the song has come on. Feel like a fool trying to get it together in the local Kmart of our small town.
You are right though...for some soul searching and good sentimental music Stewart is tops. Too bad the @#*%$ had to screw that up for me too.

------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha
One of my personal favorites is Gloria Estefan's "Coming Out of the Dark". She wrote this after her recovery from that bus accident that she barely survived.

Hi JJ,
A bunch of people have posted already with suggestions of their faves. Question for you: what kind of music do you like?
Suse and I love music and almost all kinds. What kind of stuff sounds good to you? Put me in the right church, I'll try to find the pew! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Be well.

Cheryl, isn't it wierd that Amy wrote all those wonderful lyrics about being married forever, surviving the fire, etc. and is now in the process of getting divorced?
That's kinda discouraging, huh?
