"Georgia, believe me, I can very easily make up for that morning kiss which is never ALL THAT...it's moreso a morning PECK..."

You're going to make me blush....

However, a morning PECK should not be underrated...

Mimi,

I am glad your son is happy with his choice, I think my H is too but that doesn`t stop the complaining.

My younger son is only nine years old but he goes round and round with his father. He`s still only a cub but he is extremely feisty and he gets the better of my H sometimes.

Our older son is very much like his father and is now 13 and they have come to a meeting of the minds. They get along very well now.

Our younger son is more like me personality wise but has a mouth like his father`s. So alot of head butting goes on. I usually stay out of it.

It will interesting to see how they both turn out.

Is one of your son`s more like you than the other?

Daisy:

This is an interesting question. I've been thinking a lot about this today.

True confessions here today. My OS and my H are alike in being high-functioning Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder....meaning they are very intelligent, extroverted and sociable and so are able to compensate for their attentional problems and hyperactivity..makes them well-suited for their high energy profession...so behaviorally they are much alike...

Behaviorally, my YS is slow-moving, quiet,soft-spoken and introverted like me..so my H finds him very difficult to understand...

Both of the boys to me don't fit the male stereotype but neither does my H in many ways...they/including my H are EMOTIONAL and SENSITIVE..cry openly..express their FEELINGS...my H SHOWS his feelings (heart on his sleeve)... so how he FEELS about things is rather OBVIOUS..He doesn't want to TALK about his FEELINGS like the boys do...

Daisy, your sons have the 4 year age difference like mine do...my boys are getting closer as they have become young adults..during their growing up years, they had such different peer groups because of the age difference...

What's up, Georgia?

I read your post, Georgia.

Why is she being removed from the home, now?

Too bad that L. can't keep the kids or would that be too much responsibility for her?

The paternal grandmother is willing (and acceptable to DFCS) to take the kids. As she is a family member, she gets preference over L.

L. is okay with that, she says she's met the lady and she seems very responsible.

I hope L. knows that she has done all that she can do and that all of this stuff happens for a reason.

Georgia, have you thought about how there is now more time for you two to focus on each other?

In terms of US...back to the NEW-NORMAL..H is HAPPY..told him that I plan to cook one of his favorite meals...

The Goddess is definitely back...

Yes, Mimi...I've been trying to encourage her that she has done WAY more than most people would have done (and she has). It is obvious that she has provided a very clean, stable, loving home environment for this girl.

And..no, I haven't really thought about what that means to us. Perhaps it will be part of the discussion this weekend, we'll see.

Way to go, Goddess....

I don't think Judge Judy can boil water....

I've been following this thread and just this week had an eye opening experience where I thought I was "helping" and realized as soon as I did it that my helping was disrespectful.

My husband and I took his 90 year old mother to the store. If you mention "let's ride" she's ready to go and it is good for her to get out anytime she can. We could just pick up her groceries for her, but we like to take her and let her do her own shopping.

She was buying two small things. Her total was $1.88. She got out a dollar bill from her purse and then opened the change section and scooped up ALL of her change in both hands (and it was a lot). She fumbled around digging through it and handed the clerk three quarters. Without thinking I reached and got a dime and three pennies out of her hands and handed it to the cashier. I immediately felt bad.

On the way home I said to my husband "I shouldn't have done that"

He agreed and said "I never help her unless she asks me. If she asks me I will help. It does take some patience dealing with her."

I didn't do it because of a lack of patience. I did it to "help her". I quickly realized that helping her was disrespectful and took away her dignity.

This small lesson was important for me to remember. I can apply it to my husband and my son as well when dealing with them.

Asheville, NC. The Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa.

The best place around to stay...and by that I mean from Boston to Disney! Google it.

Oh My, Susan. How nice! This is definitely on my list of places to stay.

You must go to Biltmore Estate and their Winery if you haven't done so before. It's magnificent!! We've been there several times.

I live a "right far piece from there", though.
