Hi, Im new here and i just need opinions on some things. I am 23 yrs old, working and living away from my family. I just found out recently that my mom and my step dad is going to get divorce. What's worse is that my step dad told her that she won't get anything from him. I am not familiar at this, especially the grounds for divorce in each state and whether my mom will get support.. Found some sites fore that are helpful but I am not sure if the articles are true.

First, welcome (both you and your mom) to Marriage Builders. There are a lot of resources here to help build marriage and also to re-build lives after divorce, and I hope you feel free to post questions.

Most of these articles have basic law truths in them. There are additional websites you and your mom should check out, including Divorce Net , Divorce Info, and Divorce Source . Reading all the info you can will help you and your mom to make informed decisions, and help cut down on legal fees (i.e., reduce time spent with a lawyer since you have a little knowledge). You can never be too informed. But remember, each case is unique, and the circumstances of each marriage can make all the difference in the end.

If you have something specific to ask, you might want to give a little more detail (your state, years married, etc.) and others who have similar circumstances could respond. But there are not a lot of posters online over the holiday weekend, so don't get discouraged if not too many reply.
