House - I like this show. No it's not a show about building, renovating or cleaning houses.....It's a medical show with a sordid twist and I like this guy. He reminds me of Lemonman.

All that aside.....the episode tonight was about 2 cases:

1. Woman with implants shows up at the clinic with palpiations or breathing difficulties. Seems she gave him those 'lifts' as a gift....hm.........turns out her H may have been spiking their oatmeal with his blood pressure medicine. The H wasn't interested in sex with his vuluptous W and well..... she was a bit stressed....didn't really see all of that part.

2. A different couple where the W was having sleeping disorders (slept like 18 hours a day which led to convulsions, spruts of anger (slapped her H in his face, haluncinated, went into a coma and the final diagnosis.....sleeping sickness. Seems that disease comes from Africa and both spouses denied having an A. The symptoms get worse...... the treatment for this disease c/b fatal yet the WS wouldn't fess up. Seems covering the A was more important than life itself. That's where it really peaked my attention. Too bad it was only a 1 hour show and only part of it was dedicated to this saga. It took a long time to get the correct diagnosis because the WS refused to 'confess'. Hm.... sound familar? Even at the threat of her own life. Yep, the W was the WS...... the very one going through convulsions would not divulge the source creating a dramatic scene but also frustrating everyone involved. Scary how that c/b. The toll on the BS was shown by the H wanting his W to die. For if she did have the disease, it meant she had an A. If she didn't have the disease, the treatment could kill her. Either way, the BS was going to lose something precious. The show didn't have an ending for the couple.....just one of the doctor's going to another home to talk to the OM.

Ya', it's only a show but it still makes a point. What extremes a WS c/d to their own family and what a BS can be subjected to.

The A, always a sad outcome.

Orchid,

Nothing surprises me anymore as to the unbelievable lengths of effort and cover-ups that a WS will go through to fortify an A.

I’ve been here a year reading about the run of the mill type of affairs and the occasionally exceptional type of A that has some unique circumstances.

But they all share one thing in common that is a universally accepted truth; that being that one of the spouses decided to IMPOSE another influence into the marital equation without knowing what the subsequent ramifications would be on the innocent party of the marriage.

Now on the shows that are geared for a “younger audience” it seems to me that the A’s are mostly depicted as exciting, harmless, and soulfully enriching for the WP.

The shows that are geared for the more mature audience seem to show SOME of the negative effects on the marital parties.

Affairees that don’t end up with a OM or OW trying to kill their S or vice-versa are lucky. That would probably be the worst case scenario. CSI seems to show more of this type of result than the other shows by nature of their theme I guess.

All of us here are very lucky that our S’s didn’t bring murder to bear upon us.

They had NO idea exactly what their OP was capable of at the time. These OP’s seem to operate on that hellish side of decision making without consent or notification to the WS on what their designs are.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of BS’s consider murder or maiming of the OP a viable option when they are in the stunned phase of discovery. That to me seems as natural as the suicidal tendencies of a fresh BS. If they are considering ending their own life then they could surely visualize killing the OP.

I wish that more of the “real life drama” shows would depict the harsher side of the A’s. I’m sick of seeing the scenario where everyone shakes hands and goes home to forget everything happened.

What I’d like to see on the shows is:

a depiction of most of the WS’s having a crap life after they divorce.

some of the BS’s getting venereal disease from the OP/WP.

speculation on how much shorter all of our life expectancies can be due to the stress of all this crap.

the first year of ****** that both the FWS and the FBS go through.

mental health counseling.

several years of potential fence sitting.

anger and frustration from both parties.

confusion, loneliness, and persistent sadness that are results of A’s in the marriage to both the FWS/FBS.

the financial destruction that A’s unleash upon a family.

how any of the parties to the A could end up dead.

I’m just sick of the portrayal of A’s as having a happy ending period and would like to see something played out that would be true to life and educationally accurate.

Plank,

A is drama and drama sells but it sucks to live it in real life, ya know?

Thanks for your input.

Orchid,

Steve and I never miss that show. If I recall, at the end of that episode, the H walked out once she got better, didn't he?

I was disappointed in the storyline when it came to House and his X. I could hardly stomach a few of those episodes.

Hope your doing good, Orchid

Yeah, the ones with his MARRIED ex are pretty revolting. At least it did show that an affair hurts everyone involved, no matter who is having it.

I still love the show.
