I heard some really disturbing news today from a friend of mine. (maybe it's already been said here, but I don't know)
Apparently there have been some 'new' laws implemented around the country (at least here in TX) that severely restrict access to cellphone records. The restriction is so severe, in fact, that one needs only to set an 'additional security password' and NOBODY but that person can have access to the records. Not even a private investigator.
With the advent of text messaging, and the ability to erase evidence on the phone, this gives free reign for WS's to continue contact, and not have their spouse ever find out. Especially if their cell phone bill is paid through their employer.
This makes me sick.

Right but, if you are the OWNER of the account with multiple lines, you will always have access to the records. So, I have an account with 4 cell phone numbers. Text messaging can only be gathered via court subpoena.
There is a clock on the wall ticking. I don't know where it is or what time it is but she's waiting for something. Actually, I think I found the clock. I can't see it clearly enough to read it though....

I really like Nextel, because with the right plan, you can get online access to the primary phone on the account. So you make your FWS's phone the primary, and voila!

I think your best bet is to get a friend's help, call the # on a pretext, and see if you can get a name of who it belongs to. All the reverse cell lookups I know of cost something.

I agree that if you can be the primary account holder, then that is a perfect deal.
But (in the situation of my friend...and many others), her H's work pays for his cell phone - and in order to do that, it must be in his name on his own separate account. The corporate office also gets the bills - not the H.
Now with the new laws, she has absolutely NO way of checking his cell phone records.....
I wonder if the laws will ever 'lighten' regarding this.....
