Dr. Jennifer H. Chalmers? My wife 7142 and I have our first session with her Mon. evening. We have both read a lot of good things about Steve Harley, but have not seen much regarding Jennifer. Our schedules conflict with Steve's.
We both figure she must be pretty good, 1. she's employed here, and it appears to be only her and Steve doing the phone counseling, and 2. She Co-authored Surviving an Affair.

Any feedback on this would be appreciated!!

Jennifer is dr harley's daughter.

i think she's wonderful.

she never worried about the time limit on our sessions and always called if i send an e-mail or left a message that i needed to speak to her.

she quickly understood my situation and remembered things from previous sessions(or took great notes)

she gives great advice and has a very positive outlook although she is also honest. i think it's a great combination.

she was able to give me hope and steer me in the right direction. it was very helpful that she was able to give examples of others she has worked with who were in similar or even worse situations and had good outcomes.

my impression is that she believes you should make every effort to show that you are willing to "put out a hand" or make changes for the better.

Were you in IC or MC? Also curious if you were the BS or WS?
I do find it a little odd that they do not have her Bio or really anything about her on the website. At least nothing I've been able to find?!?

We are both excited about it and looking forward to Mon. evening.

Thanks for your input

I talked with another MBer who used Jennifer. She is good. Even with one of the most stubborn WS' that used to post here, she was able to get to the core of it all. Ended up with the WS D'ng his W but his W has been able to move on and doing better without the abusive WS in her life.

You see some M's should not continue and Jennifer helped that BS see that.

Jennifer does help BS' come up with a good recovery plan. She is definitely worth the time you spend with her. Btw, Steve is also. My H & I had a session with him. Even in 1 session, it was noticeable.

JMHO,
L.
