Low,
I saw what you posted.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE think. I am not "up" on your current situation, I apologize for that.
Do what you need to do, but THINK!!
NCWalker
(Edited to add: The intent is the kids - if you are apart, there must have been some degree of "badness" to the situation to get you to that point. A joyful homecoming will be far outweighed if it CAN'T work. Just think.)

Sounds like a plan, Low.
Or the front song of some broadway show.
Stunning is good. Permanent is better. What will it take to be permanent?

LO
Its going to be hard work. Uninstinctive too. You might not get a welcome from your wife, initially at least. But PLEASE persevere.
I think you are right and righteous in this.
I have learned this - there is no higher state of grace for a man than to be what his family needs him to be in a crisis. Go be that man.

Low - Hang in there. I can't really comment on what is the right or wrong thing to do. I just don't know.
What I would say though is to take a couple of moments, take a deep breath, and make a plan with some clear realistically achieveable objectives for the short term.
It is noble to want to save your family, it is normal to question your previous actions, and it is understandable to want to ease your pain.
But these are long term goals that I doubt will be solved in one gallant charge up the mountain.
Think about what needs to be done today, tommorrow, and the next that protects versus saves your family, helps provide answers to your questions, and can make the pain bearable. Make sure those things are consistent with and work toward your long term goals, but accept that they are only steps in a much bigger process.
Maybe others have different opinions, but I just fear charging off in a highly emotional state is very risky.
Keep on keeping on.

Here's what I see...
Low's grief has finally caught up with him !
Low has lost his family. He owns his part of the destruction of his family.
Low was so busy ~moving on~ with his life .... he steped ahead of his natural grief.
Sometimes, "moving on", is a euphemism for "running away".
Later ... grief hits home & heart.
This could be a turning point.
I long felt Low was much more miserable about the family break-up than he was letting on.
I like Low ... even when he's infuriating.

Pep:
I think you have it.
At various times, I've felt what it's like 2 try 2 follow a preconceived timeline, only 2 find myself out of sync with my own recovery.
2much unfinished business.
