That is, a block of users will all have the same IP address. That means that thousands of mediacom customers could have the same IP address. It is within medicom's power to identity their users and if you want some action you will need to write them and complain because sending abusive emails is against there terms of use.

funny... really funny... I just got off the phone with a contact at my old department and was informed that there is a violation of law here too... they misrepresented the address of the sender which is considered unsolicited spam.. factor in the harassing message and all of a sudden there is a misdemeanor. Worth pursuing... not really at this point.. but that might change.

nah, it's okay... it really isn't worth pursuing in a legal fashion... besides, I am hoping the idiot has the common sense to identify him/herself and apologize. There's nothing I will say on here that would be a problem from a legal standpoint anyway. I'd rather it all go away with an apology and leave it at that.

MEDC, you know I don't agree with a lot of what you've got to say...but sheesh, this is just about the most obnoxious thing I've seen anyone do yet.
While I often feel that some of your posts are pretty judgemental and harsh, that doesn't give anyone else the right to email you with some kind of personal attack either.
Hopefully this issue can bring to light how far off base things have gotten with all of the personal attacks...and maybe we can use this to help get everyone back on track...rebuilding marriages.
