I'm sorry to hear such discouraging news.
I can't believe how long this legal stuff takes. Will you hear this Thursday or next?
What a blow for the both of you. I will also say a prayer that your H's name gets on the wait list.
I hope you both went out for ice cream or something afterwards.
Does your H have an attorney? What does this mean as far as cost to you and your H?

Katie, thanks for you concern and interest…I really feel discouraged today and have a hard time keeping a positive attitude... But I guess I will feel better again tommorrow.
Your questions:
We will hear about a court date this week Thursday. My H’s name is already on the “waiting list” (short list) in case of a cancellation for this year.
Yes, my H has a very good attorney. Luckily my H doesn’t have any legal costs to pay out of his own pocket. All the legal costs are paid by the National Trade Union for Employees at the company where my H was dismissed from (it’s the same company I’m also employed at). The reason all my H’s legal costs are paid by them is because he was the Chairperson of the Trade Union at this company. Actually this was one of the reasons my H was victimized which led to his unfair dismissal. It’s a long story but if you’re interested I will give you a link where you can read more about it.
Take care, Suzet

Hey Suzet,
Did you hear about a court date yesterday? How are you doing?

Katie, we don’t have a court date yet…sigh. The person who was supposed to issue the date on Thursday was not available. The attorney will let us know as soon as there is news. This was again another disappointment for us…I’m so sick and tired of this whole thing.
To be honest, I’m not doing very well lately Katie... I feel very depressed since last week Tuesday (after we’ve received the news) and especially after the court date couldn’t be issued on Thursday. This whole 2,5+ years I could manage to stay positive and hopeful and be patient, but lately I struggle very much to keep this up… I know intellectually things will work out positively in the end and that this case will get resolved…but I have this very ‘dark cloud’ on my mood lately and I struggle to cope with it and keeping myself together... I especially experience this at work (the same institution where my H was victimized and dismissed from) where I feel very unmotivated & frustrated in my workplace and irritated with the people around me as a result of it.
Please pray for me.
I will let you know as soon as we have a date.
NS: Thanks so much for you interest and concern...it means very much to me.
Take care, Suzet

I'm so, so, sorry. I bet it feels like this will never end. I would probably feel the same way at work. Is there any way you could take a day off and do something fun for yourself? Do you have any vacation time?

Katie,
Yes, I have some vacation leave (accumulative leave) left to take if necessary. I’m considering this. Actually I was thinking of going to my Medical Practitioner, explain my situation to him and ask to be booked off a few days from work if things don’t get better.

I think that's a good idea.
Do you have any hobbies you enjoy? I like to paint, read, garden, cook and play my ukelele.
What do you do for fun?

Katie,
Reading is my favorite pass time – from fiction to non-fiction. Other things I enjoy are exercise, going to the movies and do “window-shopping” (and other recreational activities) with my H, cooking and doing stuff around the house, spending time with my friends, etc.
I don’t have something specific creative I do with my hands like painting and playing instruments, but I do think it’s something I might enjoy and which might help to take my thoughts away from all the “problems”. I just have to learn to do those creative things first!
Take care, Suzet

I was just asking because I have recently started painting again... I use to paint all the time when I was a kid. It's been very, very helpful as far as getting my mind off of things (in a positive, non-escapist kind of way!) Last year I took bellydance, which I just loved. That helped, too.
Maybe you could take a class or something. Whenever I feel down, it helps a lot. I'm not always successful (in my singing lessons my instructor called me "the sparrow", lol) but it's always fun and I most often find out something new about myself in the process. I don't know what it's like in South Africa, but lessons/classes held in my community here can be as inexpensive as $50.
I think you need some fun! Take some time off and take care of yourself. You've helped so many people here (including me) and you're always such a positive force. You've had a rough couple of months and I think you need a little nurturing.

Thanks Katie. I must say I feel somewhat better today. Yesterday I’ve reached out and asked a few people who care (dear friends and family) to help pray for me and my H and our circumstances and this morning when I’ve waked up, I really felt better. I’m sure it’s all the love, prayers and good thoughts we received yesterday that helped. These circumstances my H and I are currently in and the emotional stress and anticipation we’re going through can be compared to a roller coaster ride. Some days or weeks are better and some are not. And some days I hit rock bottom before I start feeling better again. I also know God will not put more on our “plate” than we can handle. Thanks for your friendship and care on this board Katie – that’s also helpful.
How is it going with you and hubby lately? Last week you said you and your H are going to start MC this week. Did you have your 1st session already?
Take care and God Bless

Hi Katie,
Where are you? Are you okay? I was looking out for your posts but I see you haven’t been posting for more than a week now… I miss you around here girl friend!
How are you and your H and how is it going with the M counseling so far?
This week we received some more disappointing news from the attorneys again…a court date can’t be issued to my H (for next year) at this stage. He will either receive the date later this year or very early next year. However, the attorneys has assured my H that his name is first on the list to be issued with a court date and his name is still first on the list in case of a cancellation at the Higher Labor Court for this year.
Take care and I hope I will hear from you soon, Suzet
