11/07/05 - exposed to OMW...
07/01/07 - separated to give "space". recovery was not progressing.
09/04/07 - DDAY all over... new OM.

I really am naive. Whenever I have stood up for people for the sake of being "good" on here, it is with the real belief that everyone is good, just making some poor choices.
I would never even consider anyone doing something like what IWRA has done... and would have told you to stop being so paranoid if you had suggested it.
Similarly, prior to finding out about my W's A... the idea that it had turned to PA didn't even cross my mind... I just could not imagine her or someone I knew "so well" doing this.
I grew up waaaaay too sheltered. I guess up here on the Canadian Prairies, there isn't a lot of places to go to learn.

I would have SWORN that one of those monikers was someone else... someone I knew from a long time ago... I'd always wondered... and now I'm wondering if all these people are (is?) the one person I was thinking of, which is freaking scary.

I posted on another board about rip-off artists who steal time and emotions from helping organizations. I had experience at a volunteer help-line with this type of behavior. It burn out our volunteers, good people who donated their time to answer crisis phones.
We quickly compiled a list of their personas, with stuff like accent, background noise, story line, voice, and hints to self-protect the listener. Still, the newbies would get ripped off and grossed out and some dropped out.
The cruel thing is that people with real needs couldn't get through to our phone lines because these creeps were getting their jollies spinning fantasies and - ugh - jerking off in our ears.
This poster is the internet evolution of the help-line ripoff artists.
All we can do is notify the moderators and cut their posting privileges off. Where's the hurl graemlin?
