And in my case, I'm not in a dating relationship. I'm in a commited relationship. It seems to me that POJA most effectively ought to already be a habit by the time a couple ends "dating" and enters a mutual, long term monogamous relationship. IMHO, being married is an artificial prerequisite for this. Agreed, an excellent skill to master BEFORE marriage. I suppose I'm thinking of that first or second date. I don't call this person and ASK them "Hey, let's POJA what we're going to do tonight" No...I make reservations and pick her up. Part of that process...at that point is to let her learn something about me. POJA doesn't do that...initially. When you don't know someone well, you don't trust them. You can't POJA with someone you don't trust.

I wanted 2 name our daughter Xanthe.
My W didn't like it at all, but her idea was silly 2. Rasinda.
At least Xanthe is on the list of girl's names.
...but my daughter is glad we didn't name her that, anyway!

On a relationship level, I think POJA - from a practical standpoint - is born fairly early. It just doesn't get a name, maybe. The "jurisdiction" of POJA expands as the healthy relationship grows. You wouldn't POJA whether the checking or savings account is tapped to fund a weekend getaway, but you'd certainly agree where you're going - and the more enthusiastic the agreement, the better. Eventually, which account reasonably comes into play. nood - perhaps you're old enough to recall Frank Zappa's answer when asked why he named his daughter Moon Unit: "Because it sounds better than Motorhead." Pep: I thought you might say that! Been reading Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" novels. There are some great names in there. The main character is named "Lyra", which perhaps not coincidentally is the constellation of the Lyre, which rhymes with liar, which the main character is rather proficient at! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> But it sounds cool, Lyra (LEER-uh). And it's not the first time it was used, either. An old Disney movie with a cute alien chick named "Lyrae", which is the possessive form for Lyra (as in Alpha Lyrae, the star Vega).
