This am, I was watching the news, where they were interviewing this big burly guy in front of the wreckage of his trailer home after a tornado had ripped it apart.

He was tapping a pack of cigarettes against his palm, 2 extract one, and said:

"The Good Lord wanted it, and he came and 2k it, and there ain't nothin' anybody can do about it."

I loved the guy's atti2de, and his colloquial way of saying "no sense fretting over what happened, time to move on and rebuild."

I wonder if they had filters.

Hey 2long,

I was telepathically notified last night, while arbitrarily watching "That 70's Show" that I won the MB music verse talent contest.

Yes, that's right. I won, you lost.

I'm just wondering when I can expect your Model T? Planning a road trip next week and would really like to have it before Thurs.

Oh dang, I forgot to let Pep know I'll be needing her freshly laundered Beatles T-shirt as well.

I'll just bank the SH session until after someone makes an honest woman out of me.

K?

Aha!

It's a Model "A", not a T.

...so you can have the T any time you want!

...but I think the prize was just a ride. And if you 2k it 2day, you'd have 2 hold your door shut, 'cause the latch broke and it'll cost me $200 bucks 2 have it fixed (unless i do it myself, then it's probably more like 2 bits).

"unless i do it myself, then it's probably more like 2 bits."

And seven years, if you are anything like me.

I think the contest was just a ride! Maybe the good Lord needs to bop WATchamacallit on the head.

As far as the trailer guy with the pack of smokes -

one of the best parts of life is finally getting to a place where you just take things in stride.

Sure is a peaceful way to live.

I was going 2 edit that and add something involving copious amounts of time, with a "2" for effect, but you beat me 2 it!

Oh, I don't mind a bit, 2.

Stay on your toes and watch your back...

BTW, did the trailer guy have a scraggly beard?

I forgot to tell Weaver she'd have to pry it out of my cold dead hands!

Ummm excuse me, but it was offered as a prize in a contest which I sense that I won.

Makes no difference to me if your hands are cold, I still won it.

I suggest that if you have a problem with it, you take it up with WAT.

I don't want your broken down old Model car anymore 2long, just the T-shirt!

Yeah, I was wondering if our brother 2Long was ready to testify.

... all things in their time...

Hey 2Long! On another topic...

IT'S STILL A PLANET. BECAUSE WE (ordinary folk) SAY SO!

Pluto is Pluto. Whatever it is, it is. Classifying it doesn't change anything. This is not science.

It's just a plot to force all the school systems to discard 20 million textbooks and print another set.

<rant off>

And furthermore (Ok, still ranting) science and language are two different things. If people want to call something by a certain name, that's what it is. The name is not the thing. The thing is the thing. KWIM?! Does the whole world call a zit a "dermal eruption".

IT'S STILL A PLANET. BECAUSE WE (ordinary folk) SAY SO!

<rant off>

Smiles to ya,

It's now a "dwarf" planet according to our news.

Weaver, I believe Tucktummy's entry in the song contest was just a tad better than yours. So, sorry, but she gets to pry the t-shirt out of Pep's cold dead hands.

I personally think the prize should have been a cruise around the Bahamas on WAT's yacht.

I love the "dwarf planet" designation, because it means that we have thousands, maybe tens of thousands of "planets".

Or:

We have 4. Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.

Jupiter, Sa2rn, Uranus and Nep2ne are all "giant planets."

Besides, I met Clyde Tombaugh on at least 2 occaisions. Really cool dude, he was. And he found Pluto and he called Pluto a planet, so it's a planet. Dwarf, Diminutive, whatever. Planet!

It's got 4 moons, 2. Ol' Earth ain't got 4 moons.

Well I haven't read this whole thread yet but Weaver....what have u been smokin'?

That line about: [color:"blue"] Ummm excuse me, but it was offered as a prize in a contest which I sense that I won.

Makes no difference to me if your hands are cold, I still won it. [/color]

Sounds a bit like WS babble 2 me. LOL!!! I mean really.... u sensed you won that contest? U realize that contest was given by a guy who wants to live in a boat, impersonates Shrek and hates small obnoxiou dogs.

I wouldn't trust him to sell me a car much less run a contest. LOL!!!

Sorry Weaver, u r gonna have to start your new lyricist (is that a word? ) career someplace else.

Now 2L, where's the pix on that model A?
Pep...... that shirt is made just for you.
Believer...... is that Harley still running? Hope the OW isn't on it. I'd be

As for the guy on Lousiana..... I feel for those people down there. It sure looks like a war zone. We have been monitoring them here and as each one heads towards land, my heart just drops. Right now there's a whopper in the pacific and it appears to be headed to Guam. The eye alone 'looks' bigger than our island.

Um, Orchid, Weaver is from the south. That makes her a lyricer, prounounced "LEER-ick-er".
