Well, I am hoping that some of you may be able to give me some useful input/encouragement. My husband and I are currently separated. Married 2 years, Together for 5. I know that we both love each other still, but so much has happened in our marriage. We have been arguing over everything. Many times, I don't feel as respected or considered as I should be, and he feels like I put too many demands on him. He says "maybe we're just too different." I guess this is a case of incompatibility, although I still truly want to be together. The thing is, as a result of all of this turmoil, he had a one night stand 5 months ago and shortly after finding out about it (he confessed a few days later) I initiated...well, a third person into the bedroom. We both regret what happened, and we know those things were a result of the difficulties we have been going through. I think what the problem boils down to is he doesn't seem to have the committment to working the problems out...he doesn't follow through very well with things and is very impatient; and we're both afraid things will never get better and we'll just end up stuck. I guess my first concern is...due to everything that has happened would it still even be possible to have a good marriage? And then, what can I do to help him want to make this work? I feel like I must be crazy for wanting to stay, but I do. I'm just so confused!!!

I read about the same situation as yours in a book called Love Must Be Tough by Dr. James Dobson. I could help you in your situation. You should check it out.

Best wishes.

I think there is hope. You both have made mistakes in judgement, but we are just human. Have you talked to a marriage counselor? Find someone who knows how to help you heal from infidelity..and stay together...it is possible, I have! tons of great info that helps couples stay together. I hope it all works out!

Thank you so much for your comments...things are rocky, but looking up. I have checked out both of those sources, and they are very helpful!
