Okay, so maybe this doesn't need it's own topic, but I'm curious to see how people look at love and marriage. I came up with an analogy the other day that really struck to the core in me and just really made sense to me.

Before you read it, I will warn you: I'm a medieval history buff, so that's why it was THIS specific analogy.

Love is a mutable, constantly-changing, and fluid thing; it starts off in a much different state than it maintains. Love isn't magic, it is work. Yes, at first it feels like magic, but that feeling does not succeed in maintaining itself forever. It must be molded and forged, like a beautiful sword; both start as passionate ideas and with hot, molten elements, but without work.. without the hammer and the anvil, the sweat, the tears, and the effort both will eventually cool and die out, turning into nothing but a cold, heavy weight.

What sort of analogies would you all use?
