Tomorrow is our 15th wedding anniversary. I am posting this today because we are both taking the day off and spending the whole day together AND going on a date tomorrow evening.
1.5 years ago I filed for D. Today I just mailed a letter to my attorney officially cancelling the D process. It has been on hold since April. Even though I still wonder if the wounds from all of this betrayal that both of caused can really heal, especially with the OC situation, I do know that we are finally on the right track. He is remorseful. He is learning to be transparent. Not an easy thing for a man that associates independance with secrecry and secrecy with privacy. He has come a long way in recent weeks. I am trying to not look backward anymore but look forward. To enjoy each day with my husband, whom I love very much. I am beginning to look forward to what the future holds as well.
We messed up big, both of us. We risked everything for nothing but selfishness but being here and seeing what other's have overcome and knowing that we both want to be married, we both love God and want what is best for our children gives me hope.
I don't know what will happen with the OC. He knows I will accept him. It is up to my H though to take the steps legally. He waffles, not sure what he wants.
Anyway, my point is thanks MB and thanks to all my friends here. I know many of you would not have believed we would get to this point.
RIF, if you are out there I owe you so much. My fellow idiots, Pep, Susan, Bramble Rose, FH and the list goes on and on. Thank you.

Well, FF, it's the other way around.
You are on my list.
The good list, that is. I want to be clear which list.
There are two lists, you know...

"An ethical man knows it is wrong to cheat on his wife. A moral man will not actually do it." ~ Ducky

Tomorrow is our 15th wedding anniversary. I am posting this today because we are both taking the day off and spending the whole day together AND going on a date tomorrow evening.
If you can't sleep in, you can always go back to bed later.
In my experiance, there will always be bad days. Mis communication days, hard days, and doubting days.
I think it's part of life.
HOWEVER, there are also good days, wonderful days, nice days, special days.
May your next few days be the latter type, not the former.
Let me know if we can help with vacation plans. Love to help if we can.
SS
I think sometimes about all the pain in the world. I hope we can ease that here, even if only a little bit.

Thank you, Jen We had a lovely day. Just hanging out while taking DS to therapy. He ran late getting back from fixing a faucet in our rental unit but we still had a nice dinner out. Brought dessert home to share with the kids.
The best part of the whole day? We were driving through OW's former neighborhood. I offhandedly asked him a question and he answered quickly and honestly! I just looked and him and said "thank you for being honest. It means a lot to me and helps in rebuilding the trust"

Ok, Full report.
All the details.
Or, Um, most of the details anyway.

It worried me when you started the OC/Recovery thread. I wondered what else what happening.
Glad you had a good time. I think Dr Harley is right about that. The more good times you have, the better it gets.
It's like a flower. You can't water it once, and expect it to live through the hot, dry summer. You water it over, and over, and over again. It might wilt, but it will live. And ohhhhh the beauty when it blossoms.
Keep watering it, and help him do the same.
Dinner was formal, or light? Someplace new, or an old favorite?
See, I like details. What can I say?

I started the other thread because I am still not certain I/we CAN recover. I think we can but this underlying issue of the OC will never go away.
Dinner was casual at a favorite place as we were running short on time. Very good food and company. I do agree about "watering", we have to nurture this relationship or it will die and we will have gone through all this for nothing.
I do love him and I know he loves me too. We have a pretty decent life together but he is not good at opening up, something that is really necessary to work through these issues. It may be time to suggest counseling again.

Happy Anniversary FF. I was out of town through the weekend and just saw your thread.
At 1.5 years, it's okay to still have uncertainty, especially with the added burden of the OC.
(((((FF)))))
God bless.
