I think I would feel the same way. It's a new chapter for both of you and you're excited about new beginnings too. I'd be willing to bet he's proud and wants to show off his new life too. I agree that he should wait for you. Have you told him how you feel using I statements?
I feel for you. It's so hard blending lives but can be done successfully.
I wish you luck. Tell us how it goes after you talk to him.
