With all the divorces, knowing of the chances of being cheated on. Knowing that anybody or everybody is ripe for an affair. Why do we bother getting married at all? Why do we set ourselves up for the hurt? Are we really that blind to think that someone would`nt choose another ever that they would want to be with us for a lifetime?

Why? Because inbetween all that bitterness and hate are the precious lives we have either brought into this world or lived with. In between the weeds, is life that needs t/b nurtured.

Nurture and cultivate the good things. Choke out the bad. Got RoundUP? <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I agree with Orchid. At a toast for Squid and my 20th anniversary she raised her glass and said " to 18 wonderful years - and two terrible ones". She was smiling but it was true.

The he11 of the last couple of years IN NO WAY removed, erased or devalued the wonderful loving adventures Squid and I shared before then.

I regret many things pertaining to the affair, but I do NOT regret getting married to Squid. Even if Squid had eneded up with OM, she would NEVER have the number of "firsts" that we shared.

I think the tindrels of the weeds are very strong, and can sometimes overtake the beautiful garden, when left unattended. My garden is full of weeds. Lucky for me, winter is on it's way, and will push everything down and away from the garden beneath, it will kill the weeds. The garden will come back, and this time I will take better care of it. This is MY garden. WH has helped to cultivate the many flowers and vines that grow, and I will always remember that.

Now, to stop with the imagery, heh, heh. I love my H, this WH is not mine, and I don't want him; the memories that we have shared happened in a time when we were completely at peace and happy. Just because we are not today, does not diminish their contribution to my life.

AND another thing!! I didn't even entertain the idea that we would divorce, when I was marrying him. Why would I? Now, if you want to talk REmarriage, well that's an entirely different question.

Because that could never happen to ME! MY man would never be needy of another's attention. That kind of stuff happens to BAD wives. They just werent careful. Or smart enough. AND I'd never pick such a lecherous man in the first place!

I would NEVER make those mistakes!
