Kids 2 and 5 so not too much for the New Year. We could get a sitter and go out, but my wife and I want to include the kids so we are having a small party with the kids, nieces, nephews and some other friends who have young childern. The party was my wife's idea so I'm supportive of it.
How is downtown St Louis? Looks good from the TV shots I see from the new ball park. I'm a Cubs fan, but I congradulate you anyway.

They've revitalized a stretch of Washington Avenue with some upscale (trendy) restaurants and clubs.
Thanks for the props on the Cardinals. I'd congradulate you as well if the Cubs had anything to ever be congradulated for.

Jim, if you like wine, there are a host of wineries in SE Missouri, many fairly close to St. Louis. Herman is a quaint little town with a couple of wineries, and you can find a bunch more of them online.
It makes for a fairly inexpensive road trip, checking out the wineries, tasting the wines, and seeing small towns and villages you'd never see otherwise. My W and I have done a couple of these winery tours, all by our own design, and had a great time.
All that glitters is not in the city... LOL!

I am very sorry about your situation. The odd thing is its ok for you to try your best to stay with her even tho she cheated on you, when in my situation it seems best to leave him since we are not married; tho he has not cheated on me. I guess I am torn, in my heart I married him when I moved in with him, but obviously I was just lying to myself.
I hope things work out with you and your wife.

SD You act as if I don't already know this. I've been going to Oktoberfest in Hermann since I was in college, and I live just a block off of US Highway 94 which runs from St. Charles (Little Hills), through Defiance (Sugar Creek, they have a good Cynthiana), Augusta (Montelle, Augusta, Mt. Pleasant, Balducci), and Dutzow (Blumenhoff). We usually do the winery thing twice a year and start out in Dutzow and work our way back home.

Great...now I know who to contact regarding the "better" wineries...!!! I'm planning a trip to Memphis area, through as many wineries as we can work in sometime this spring!
The place just off the interstate between Columbia and Kansas City has a great red dinner wine, a great white wine and a really good cherry, but it's a little pricey for me @ $25/bottle...

SD I don't know of the place just off the interstate that you are referring to unless you mean the Stone Hill outlet that is between Columbia and St. Louis. They have pretty good wine, and all of it is overpriced at the wineries. If you want to get it cheap, just go to a good grocery store that has a Missouri wine section and you can get most for 1/2 the price that you would get it at the winery. I haven't really been to any of the wineries in SE Missouri, but I hear there are a couple good ones in Ste. Genevieve (on the way to Memphis). I would also recommend doing the trip from Dutzow to St. Charles and staying at a hotel in St. Charles. There are about 8 different wineries within about 20 miles of each other and I like Blumenhoff and Sugar Creek the best.

Jim:
It sounds like you are getting stronger and more focused and implementing a good plan to save your marriage. I too struggle with LBs when I know that my WH and OW have talked or been in contact. For me, it has been 10 days or so since they supposedly ended their sordid affair.
The last couple of days have been better since we had a major blowout on Xmas Eve. My WH is currently living somewhere else but we are planning a short trip to a mountain resort not too far from our home (90 minute drive).
We will be away for a couple of days and hopefully try and leave some of our troubles behind, if only for a short time.
I think your New Years Eve plan sounds like a lot of fun. I hope that you can eventually manage to get away for a proper vacation together some time in the near future. Just remember, no LBs. Good Luck.

Jim,
How's the head? I saw your post on another thread. Your wife have a good time? Any words said in truth while drunk?

The head is fine. You have to remember, I'm still just 26. Prime partying age. My WW however, started coming down with a cold yesterday, and her partying last night didn't make matters any better.
I did get a kiss on the lips last night, however. That was the first time I got that in a while. However, WW showed up last night after we got home. She saw me posting on here and wanted to read some advice I was giving Eph. I went to the bathroom and she started reading his entire thread (because he has called me with her around). She started reading some of the things I told him to do and started getting pissed at me, and started defending Eph's WW saying stuff like (she is the mother of those kids, he can't cut her off, how do I know that Eph isn't an abusive husband, etc.). She was drunk at the time, and I maybe got a little defensive and slipped a few LBs in there (I can't remember all of what I said), but this morning I apologized for getting emotional last night and she said not to worry about it.
Overall, we have been getting much closer. I told her that I was scared about this week because this is about the time that she starts reaching out to OM. She called him 20 days after 1st NC, and she called him 18 days after 2nd NC. It has been 16 days since the last contact. She kinda laughed when I explained this, told me not to worry, and gave me a hug. We watched a movie today, and cuddled a lot. She is more and more receptive to me showing her affection. Before she would push me away if I just put my arm around her, but lately I have been holding her and rubbing her back and/or leg. Nothing sexual yet, but I can see the wall that she has put up slowly coming down.
I feel that in about the next 4-8 weeks that the fog will completely lift like your WW, M2L. The holidays couldn't have come at a better time. Before WW was always mopey and wouldn't want to go out. Well just in the past 10 days, we've have 2 sets of friends from out of town visit us, I've gone to her sister's house for Christmas, and last night she had a great time hitting the bar scene in downtown St. Louis with a coworker of MINE! Up to this point she wouldn't be caught dead with someone who was MY friend first (as she felt like she would be judged by them). Now, this friend was a female, so it is easier for her to hang out with a female friend of mine than a male friend, but it is another step in the right direction. Every now and then the WW will rear out her ugly head and tell me that things aren't getting better (usually when I slip up and start talking about our R/M, but every now and then I like to test the waters to see where we stand), but her actions speak otherwise.
I just need to keep plugging along, and hopefully before too long, I can put that F in front of her signature line.

Seems like Jim and Mrs Jim are on schedule. Ups and downs up and downs - a little better each day.
Try to keep your wife away from here though. Others have told me not to bring my FWW here just yet if ever. This is our place and I for one don't want my wife to feel like we are ganging up on her.
Your 26 not 21 so it gets a little harder each year doesn't it Jim?

True, my best drinking days are behind me, but I still have enough to stay in the big leagues.
I didn't bring the WW here, she was drunk and curious. She normally would avoid this place.

I actually just read your whole thread Jim and I must say I'm impressed!
You've learned a lot in a short time of being here. Kudos to you. You're wife is very lucky to have you and she'll realize that very soon. Again, it's uncanny how similiar our sitch's are and where we are in our marriages!
