Um, I don't know how to bring this up. But I've been having an online debate with a fellow who says threesomes with his wife and another woman are OK. This boggles me! It's obviously not OK from a Christian perspective, but he challenged me to find scriptures that address it.
Unfortunately, there aren't any verses that I can find that discuss it directly or indirectly, other than to say to avoid sexual "immorality."
He's using several Old Testament examples of ppl who sinned as his justification.
Does anyone have scriptures I can point him to? Thanks!

Hmmm, I don't know any scriptures that point to this topic, but most of the threesomes I've read about here turn into 2somes, leaving out one person. Over and over again, we've had some sad souls here where the affair started out as a threesome.

Matthew 19:4-6
4"Haven't you read," he [Jesus] replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'5and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
"Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." 1 Corinthians 13:12

He's using several Old Testament examples of ppl who sinned as his justification. This is silly. there are plenty of peoples' actions recorded in the bible, that we know we are NOT SUPPOSED TO DO. He's just trying to confuse you. tell him if he's serious about it being "biblically ok", then he, and his wife, and HIS PASTOR, should have a little chat together. If he's not willing to discuss it with a pastor, then clearly, he doesnt believe the crap he's trying to sell. or, maybe he's just trying to "troll" you. (get a rise out of you, from something he doesnt really believe in)

Thanks, EVERYONE, for your input.
Fleshalonians...good one!
The guy isn't my hubby. Praise God! He really was a fellow I was debating with online.
I think he is trying to confuse me also. But I think more he's just confusing himself.
As someone mentioned, there are lots of OT examples of people doing the WRONG thing. God put these in His Word to show us what NOT to do.
Thank for the scriptures. Pls. let me know if you can forward any more.
Best,
T

I have a question. Why are you "debating" such a personal topic? Does your husband know what you are discussing?

This quote is from an article about divorce, but I think this part may help you in your debate. But Jesus allowed divorce for porneias. The word is not the specific word for adultery, and it is a very broad term referring to sexual uncleanness. It is broad in just the way that legalistic sinners hate. Whenever someone is caught in sin, their first reaction is to grab for the rulebook in order to challenge the point. "It wasn't adultery because it was oral sex. It wasn't adultery because I didn't really love her. It wasn't adultery because a twenty-year collection of child porn magazines isn't adultery. It wasn't adultery because I was just fondling our daughter. Fondling is not adultery."
But whether or not it was adultery, all the above have to be considered as porneias—sexual uncleanness. And Jesus says that whoever divorces, "except for porneias"is guilty. THE REST OF THE ARTICLE This guy you're debating sounds like a real winner. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> ~ Marsh

Does anyone have scriptures I can point him to? Thanks! TooInvolved, may I be so bold as to say that you are "too involved" and "inadequately prepared." First question would be why are you chatting online, especially with someone like this IF you are a believer? Second question would be why do you think ANY Scripture would entice him to change his behavior? He is doing what he wants for personal pleasure and NOT out of obedience to the Word of God. Third question is a question you could ask him. "IF I could show you clear Scripture verses that say you are wrong in your belief, would you submit to God in humble obedience and obey God no matter what you were feeling." I'll even "lay odds" that his response would be something like, "I don't really care what the Bible says, I'm going to do what I want to do anyway." One more time, TooInvolved, WHAT are you doing chatting online and even entertaining a tempting conversation with such a Troll? If YOU need verses for yourself, they will be provided to you. Others have already given you good ones. Make no mistake about it, God ordained marriage for ONE Man and ONE woman...period. It's humans who disobey God and make up their own "justifications." God bless.

Yes, I do get "Too Involved," hence, my screen name.
I'm not sure what the question about "if I am a believer" is meant to insinuate. However, I'm chatting b/c he IM'd me re: a question I asked online and he brought it up. I got caught up in trying to show him he was waaaaay out of God's will. And, yes, I am a believer.
Anyway, this guy is definitely a "loser" and likely a troll too. You're right - I probably shouldn't open the door to sin by continuing to engage him.
Thanks for everyone's input! God bless!
