He will realize all of this soon enough. Some have to learn it the hard way. I had hoped that his faith in God was strong enough that he would follow Him. But it is not at this point.
As he said, he would rather set aside what God says for what he wants to do. Unfortunately, both he and his wife will suffer for this decision.
But he will not listen to anyone. Not to experience. Not to the experts. Not even to God. And there is nothing we can do about it.
He knows we are here. He knows what God expects. When he is ready, he will hopefully bend his knee to Him. Of course, we will be there to help him.
I just pray things dont get too screwed up before he realizes this.

Marsh, I asked Pastor about this situation. For the record, we are Lutheran, Missouri Synod. I also asked a friend who is an Elder in a Bible Church. The answers were similar. The Pastor should step in and talk to the people involved and try to resolve the situation, hopefully before it comes out into the open and the congregation finds out. They will be prohibited from working in the same ministry. The meeting he was talking about would be an absolute no-no if OM is involved. If the situation cannot be resolved for whatever reason, one or both parties will be asked to leave the church. If they do not, they could be removed from membership. In my opinion, if the situation does come out in the open and the Pastor does not intervene, it would be a heavy blow to his credibility. That is our opinion, yours may differ.
From what I could find, Prayer Mountain could be a retreat either in the US or outside the country. E, where you aware of the EA when they went there???

I tried looking again here at home and a few sites in the US came up. Could not find the Korean site again....I am not sure what search engine my friend at work used. From what I could find, this church began in Korea, and some of these churches have been planted in the US. Wikipedia had some interesting things to say... MOUNTAIN PRAYER <-------- Click here. Some regard the teachings of the church as divergent from mainstream Christianity, in that it teaches that salvation brings material wealth. Yonggi Cho is very well considered in most Pentecostal Christian circles. That church has an excellent reputation. I guess secular organisations have a hard time believing that and church can grow to 800,000 without it being a cult.

Marsh - Not really looking for a theological debate here but a prosperity doctrine is taught by many churches. The idea that christians should be poor is the antithesis of a prosperity Gospel. The bible does teach that material wealth is part of salvation.

Marsh - Not really looking for a theological debate here but a prosperity doctrine is taught by many churches. The idea that christians should be poor is the antithesis of a prosperity Gospel. The bible does teach that material wealth is part of salvation.
