I think sometimes about all the pain in the world. I hope we can ease that here, even if only a little bit.

2L,

I have a meeting Wed night, but late afternoon might be a good time to tip one. OR we could do it on Thurs. Let me know or I'll just find you at the meeting. I KNOW where you live or at least what sessions you are likely to be in.

Hey gc!

$h!t howdy! You here???

Saw your poster listed a few days back, but I just got here this afternoon.

Saw JL briefly this afternoon.

Look me up at my poster in the am or my session in the pm, and let's me, you and JL tip a few in the evening before I hit the plane!

You got it 2long. I'm going to see Al Gore at lunchtime, and I'll try and track you down in the PM. I sent you my cell at the iloveulove address, so there's your last resort.

How cool. That must have been one FUN meeting.

Did you talk about other stuff apart from "geek" stuff.

I bet you talked about all of us.

KiwiJ,

Jen, Geek stuff??? Heck, we solved most of the worlds problems. It is amazing what one can accomplish after a "road pop" or 6.

Well, we did discuss a few other planets as well, after all 2L and I are sort of wedded to one in particular. He tends to like it down and dirty and I tend to like to remain about the clouds.

It was nice to meet Graycloud. He is a nice guy...YOUNG but nice. 2L as you know is about your age, and me??? Well, I have moved on to yet another decade a few years ago. I cannot believe it.

It was fun though, and no we really did not talk about anyone else, we are guys after all. Cars...YES! Science...YES! Marriages...YES! More cars...YES! More Science...YES! Global warming...YES!

It was good. I think 2L even managed NOT to miss his plane.

Jen, you would have fit right in with the "guys".

Hope all is going well.

2L, did you make your flight?

It was fun.

So "Science" and "Global warming" are two different topics?

(just stirring the pot)

YUP!

If it were science, it would be understood that passing a few laws would not change it. The reality of the earth's constant changing is more profound and a deeper mystery.

AD, glad you picked up on my comment.

Well if he didn't I think it is safe to assume that he auctioned his ticket and went fishing with John instead.

Gray,

I need to talk to you! We do not have any snow, it ALL melted, and it is almost Christmas.

What are you DOING over there with that weather machine???

Knock it off!

I want snow for Christmas.

2long who you callin' "unit"?

It was a fantastic conversation. I was sorry to end it though we did put away a few in quite the short stretch.

It was only you KJ, you're the only one we talked about.

I am sorry weaver. Some whack job from JPL stole the machine and tried to modify it and make it into some kind of "probe".

Oh, man. I love to see S. Fred Singer's posters at AGU meetings. All those exclamation points; all that text in boldface!

Carbon dioxide is a significant source of climate forcing. Carbon dioxide from fossil fuels is special because it is "new", taken up from the earth's crust, a reservoir into which there is no significant flux.

Gee Gray, I am so hurt. I always talk about you when I am out and about attending amazing events and talking to the world's most interesting scientists. You wound me.

Where the heck is your thread anyway. I have an update.

yep! Made the gate with 15 minutes 2 spare!

Got a whole row 2 myself, which is how I like them flights.

Read a "skiffy" novel I picked up recently that was written in the late 80's, taking place in the late 90's. Funny how they talked about communication even in those "recent" times. Laptop computers were pretty new and rare, and they ac2ally used modems 2 send emails and read newsgroups. Nobody seems 2 have cell phones in the late 90's either.

But it was nifty. The conference I just left is in the story, 2.

Science geeks, indeed. At least gc, JL, and I don't have 2 deal with cm-size black holes gobbling up the Earth from inside...

Infidelity is worse than that, though... ...or it was. I don't think much about it anymore.
