Okay, 2006 is coming to a close. Like every year, it has been filled with many events - some more welcome than others. There are many people here facing trying times. However, sometimes it is good to look for the blessings we have received.

This is a thread for just that. A thread to help you enter the new year with hope in your heart. Remember that even little things can be a blessing.

What has happened this year to bless you?

-my beautiful children who have made my life so fulfilled
-my health and that of my kids.If you have your health.....
-my family/friends
-my dog
-my beautiful home
-my job that allows me to eat, take care of my kids/pet and home and allows me some fun in life $$
-finally being free (D) of the selfish adulterer and liar
-my dignity and integrity and faith

It's been a rough year in many respects but I am thankful for so much that I have.

My blessings are many:

My parents are stll alive and in good enough health we can enjoy each other's company.
My little dog is in pretty good health and we spend many hours in mutual admiration.
My job is interesting and the people are fun.
I live in an incredible city in a lovely neighborhood.
I'm enjoying learning yoga.
I have some incredible friends - many old but some new who have made the last two years bearable and a times joyful.
I have an apartment that is safe and comfortable.
I have managed to keep off the majority of weight I lost duirng all of the drama.
I am in good health.
I still feel attractive even tho I know the bloom is off the rose, and when I'm ready I will meet a man if I want to.
My soon to be ex husband (who still gives me mixed messages) behaves as if hel cares about me and would like our relationship to be good.
I have no plans for tonight, but I am looking forward to spending the evening with my dog and knowing that I won't be having a pity party and will enjoy the solitude and peace.
Happy New Year everyone. I wish you all a peaceful and joyful New Year.

I too am blessed with healthy/loving parents

Old friends and New friends that care about ME, not what I can do or give them $$$.

Friends and Family that know how to make me happy. It's the little things. The pictures of my horse and I that my friend took - (unknown to me) have enlarged, framed and wrapped for me at Xmas...Now that gift made me cry. Funny, I never cried over the expensive jewels STBXWH gave me.
Or the throw that another friend had made for me of my horse and I. (from a photo I emailed to him)

A wonderful sister, newphew and b-i-l, that try to keep me on the right path ( I said they try, didn't say it works all the time LOL)

I am still in my home (so far), still have my job (so far) and am not fretting over $$ yet..

My horse and my dog

STBXWH and I were civil over the holidays. Better than prior years.

My mental health has greatly improved. I am still sad over the lose of my husband, marriage, but now I'm better at dealing with all of it.

First New Years Eve that I spent ALONE, because I wanted to and I survived with NO TEARS. I knew STBXWH was out with his new GF and I was OK. Sure I thought about the fun they having, but I was happy at home by myself.

** I've learned that there is nothing I can't face as long as I lean on God. It's one thing to think it, but such a blessing to actually experience that kind of grace.

** I have friends that I can laugh and cry with. Friends that like me, and not just people I know thru WH.

** I've been able to spend more time with DD who is an amazing young lady. She's proof that somehow through the years I've muddled through and must have done something right.

** Although I can't ever trust WH even if he ever comes out of his fog, I have been able to forgive him for many things, and this has brought me peace.

** There are actually gentlemen in this world that find me attractive and treat me like a lady with respect.

** My "neverending" divorce has been tiresome, but it has given me time to recover so that I'm not reacting to new experiences with raw emotions.
