I know there is a separate board for this, but I like this busy one. DH wants me to get the kids to bed early tonight so we can work on improving our 15 hrs/wk (HA!) of undivided attention.

Could yall give me some easy quick ideas that I dont have to leave the house, or go to the store to buy things for?

Hopefullt QT will begin in about 2.5 hours

thanks!

If he likes music and dancing, you could start with that. Maybe some soft lighting or candles. Some folks enjoy showering together.

OK I am late to this..
here's some ideas..

make a small treat....
things in the house...
cheese and crackers

any delicious finger foods to feed eachother...

fruits....dip

play back-gammon

scrabble..with only "silly sexy words"

card game WAR
or SPIT...sitting on the bed indian style (is indian style now a politically incorrect term?)

if it's warm where you live..sit outside and lay in the grass look at stars...

if cold plan a two minute snow ball fight...

we have three kids...we do lots of date nights at home...

every year I host a special christmas party...we feed the kids....I tire them out...put to bed early..then we make something delicious....and watch It's a Wonderful Life...

I always make him a special invitation for the night...
where he has to RSVP

cook something together....
make pasta...
and roll the dough out together...
make sugar cookies and cut them out...only do some in naughty shapes

for planned date nights I often buy something to eat that we have never had before...
ie....stuffed olives with garlic...just a few...but something new....different

make brownies together from scratch

our next day date..we are making rissotto together...

we have done ravioli
gnocchi's..
etc...
I will say...this sunday I want to learn how to cook blah blah blah..and I need some help

he says OK

color pictures...
get paper and write a story..

he starts...
you add
he adds
you add
etc etc etc...

lay in bed and discuss vacations...from the past..remember when....
lay in bed and discuss the delivery of the kids...

lay in bed and make up conficious sayings...

like Conficious says man who farts in church must sit in own pew...
ha ha..

make up dirty limericks together....

ask him what would be his ideal super hero power and why..
(my experience is most guys want to fly)

blindfold eachother and feed eachother things...and make them guess ..popcorn..pickles...canned fruit etc...

I love in home date nights...

plan the next one...
invite him formally...

mail him an invitation...etc...with a RSVP date...
send a email card the day before telling him how much you can't wait to spend time with him....

have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We do it ALLLLL the time....

Thanks, Ark. these are great ideas. Last night's QT consisted of 2 hours of grown up conversation. No TV on, no phone calls, etc.

It was great!

I am loving the invitation idea. Will definitely do that!
