Sounds like they are condoning passive agressive behaviors by saying it is done subconsciously. Poppycock!

Though that was the husband's conclusion, his and his wife's research didn't go far enough to draw such a Scientific Conclusion.

The wife specifically said that because of the study's actual Scientific Conclusions, her husband "should now be better equipped to suppress his reactant tendencies."


The implications go far beyond, in my opinion:
Personally, I found it very significant that the wife was not perceived to be "fun". Of course Affair partners are always so much more fun. Which would make having an affair even more irresistible to a man, especially since he knows his wife would want him to be faithful.
