2, make the broach a dialogue. Write it down first. No more than a type-written page.
Succinct.
"I feel" statements.
Give her 20 mins or so to compose a response.
Start with a relevant complement.
Close with how good it could be.
No arguing.
Nothing has to be solved in an single dialogue. It's impact on you, it's impact on her, is the point right now. Well, the tip of the iceberg impact anyway.
In both our sitchs NC has probably never been achieved for long. That's what's below the water line.
But we can't solve NC in an LTA in one sit-down. We have to establish a modicum of truth and reality first.

I might broach it in an email at some point. I doubt we could have a calm dialog about it, even if I do hand her a note first.
My W's "cool off" time after raising her ire, can be hours or days. Never been minutes.
I'll probably cogitate on what I might write and post some ideas here, or people can make suggestions, like you just did.
Still no word from the lawyer, but he probably just got in. On the other hand, he worked from home yes2rday because his daughter was sick.
