I continue to get the message "Private Messages disabled" when I try to send a private message. Am I doing it incorrectly? What's the catch? Sent an email to moderator, but no response. Any help out there?!

I did not receive any email. And your responders are correct. The Private Message feature is disabled for everyone.

Well, my understanding is that private messages are disabled globally by the board moderators, to avoid encouraging "inappropriate relationships" from developing. It's explained somewhere ... it's just not easy to find the location where they explain it.

And so they should be. VERY smart thinking from the Harley's.

Thank you everyone for your explanations. I was confused because when I read the Q&A segment it talked about private messages and after I did all the sign up things, there was a private message welcoming me to the forum. Wasn't quite sure how all that worked and if it was normal for everyone to send private messages. Thanks for the info! I'll be posting soon. Been reading for at least 6 months.
