Hey ForeverInLove,
Count of Monte Cristo could be an inspiring romantic sports movie.....I could watch Jim Caveisel (sp?) do anything.
Lilmom, you've inspired me to bump this thread with a twist to sports inpirational movies....plus I just found out the name of that new sports movie coming out soon....like this weekend:
It's called Pride and features swimming. (That's all I know....if anyone sees it, please give us a review.)
I could also watch McConnehey in anything, even in We Are Marshall, which was inspiring due to being a true story (football team plane crash) with consultants who were personally involved. My H said he didn't think some of the coaching perspectives were realistic, but that's to be expected from any profession.
Through this thread, I discovered my H and I like more "science fictionish" movies than I thought:
Phenomenon (John Travolta) Frequency (Jim Caviesel) Pay It Forward (Haley Joel Osmet) Independence Day (Will Smith) Contact (Jody Foster, McConnehey)
What other "sci-fictionish" movies are similar to those?
Any other sports inspirational movies out there?

Sports movies:
I hear the movie Invincible (with Mark Wahlberg) is good, same for Remember the Titans.
If you consider Ice Skating a sport - The Cutting Edge is good.
Somebody already mentioned Hoosiers before. Days of Thunder - Tom Cruise and NASCAR Miracle - the story of the 1980 US men's olympic hockey team gold medal
Just to name a few....
Divorced on 3/25/2008 but I have primary legal and physical custody of my 2 kids. Plan A Thread Plan B ThreadEphesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

Has anyone seen THE BIG FISH? It's supposed to combine romance and flashback adventure in an inspiring story. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
Speaking of BIG FISH, it'd be great if anyone reading Mark's Fishing Lessons in the Recreation forum could comment on his concepts intertwining marriage issues with fishing concepts.
Still sseeking other movie suggestions.
Thanks, Ace

The Other Side of the Mountain - based on a true story about an Olympic downhill skier who winds up paralyzed form a ski accident while training for competition.
Cafe Plan B link http://forum.marriagebuilders.com/ubbt/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2182650&page=1 The ? that made recovery possible: "Which lovebuster do I do the most that hurts the worst"? The statement that signaled my personal recovery and the turning point in our marriage recovery: "I don't need to be married that badly!" If you're interested in saving your relationship, you'll work on it when it's convenient. If you're committed, you'll accept no excuses.
