I hate this place because of all the pain. The pain that the WS brings to a family. When will they get their heads out of their a55es. I’m sick of it.
We give 2x4 around here sometimes, but I truly think that IRL some WS need a real 2x4.
I don’t know why I’m even typing this. Just feeling kinda emotional today. Nothing wrong – it is just getting to me I guess.
I did just finish reading Pep’s “Dear Daddy” thread. Thanks for bringing that one back. I cried.
This chit shucks
Now I do love this place at the same time because of all the caring people and help everyone gets.
Have a good day, I’m trying to.

I hate this place too M2L. I love the fact that there are people here like you who have helped people like me and allows me to vent now and then. Do you have a link to that Dear Daddy thread?

I know what you mean! Sort of a catch 22...
It's okay to have mixed signals. Overwhelming place and yet a hopeful place.
Hope & success takes on different shapes for everyone.
Moody blues, sunny dazes, fog moments, tear jerkeers.
Passionate place and a compassionate space. Lots of dsyfunctional repairs happen here.
One thing for sure much of what happens here is REAL Ventilation.
I see things very differently. Have learned so much.
I had to leave for a long time. Too much going on in my real life and helping others in never ending crisis's.

In addition to both of your 'hate it/love it' sentiments, I'm thinking I could be addicted to it.
Married Forever mentioned the concept awhile back. What say others?

Yeah - like others here I stick around to try to help people thru their pain. I know it too well just like we all do. When a newbie shows up and thinks that their life and M are over and they have no hope, I try to give them a little hope and a path for what to do and not do.
Don't know how long I will be here for. Some have been here for a long time and I'm thankful for them and their help.
Anyway - just trying to help where I can when I can.
best to all

M2L-
I love you! I'm grateful that you are here even through it does get difficult and overwhelming and you feel like you just want to pull your hair out sometimes...
But we wouldn't have it any other way, now would we?
When i'm doing well, I try to do my "community service" also! LOL
Only thing I can think of to give back for all the help that I've gotten here...
Such wonderful people...lifting each other up with smiles and hugs, and words of encouragement...FAMILY!

S4B-
I'm glad you offered to bring potato salad 'cause I can't make decent one to save my life. I do make an awesome apple pie though....

During one of my sessions with Steve Harley back when my ex and I were in the middle of the chaos, I mentioned I was drawn to this board like a moth to a flame. He suggested limiting exposure to this board only to muy situation.
While you can get much support, you can also get dragged down. I've been in both situations. If you are in the midst of the rollercoaster, be carefull.

HL,
I can see your point and I've asked my H to help be my monitor....but I love feeling like I am healing and that I might have something to contribute now and then even if I am a newbie (tomorrow is my 2nd month anniversary) ...but I could spend hours lurking and posting....hence my feeling that I may be addicted. But I get happy by helping, in spite of the pain telling me I may need to log off.....
But that does not mean I can't come to a picnic.....I will bring the grilled chicken Caesar with garlic croutons and decadent double chocolate brownies, all gooey with mocha frosting.

I'm soOOOOOO there! Grilled Chicken Ceasar and BROWNIES!
TO Die for! GO ACE! This is a hard place t/b yet it is a refuge for many. Often it is a temporary place for most and some stay longer to give back what they have been given. I'm the later. I was helped tremendously. In reality the OW and WS owed their lives to my being on MB. Well....what I mean to say is their counterpart. OW is a person (one who I still would not help if needed - ) and the WS is dead (H is back). The help here is more than I believe any Harley imagined. We are grateful for their kindness in letting us have this place to post. I have heard and even spoke to people from different continents. This A is earthwise and so is the support for the BS and family. Now in regards the picnic.... I will bring the chips and killer salsa. If you like, I can throw in a pineapple upside down cake. Aloha, L.

THANK YOU ORCHID......for being the latter....willing to stay around and help those of us starting out. In reality the OW and WS owed their lives to my being on MB. Well....what I mean to say is their counterpart. OW is a person (one who I still would not help if needed - ) and the WS is dead (H is back). Are you saying that if you had not been on MB posting that you might have physically altered the physical lives of now-dead WS and OW? (I'm foggy about the 'counterpart' part!) Glad H is back....how long was he 'dead'? Did you post your success story on the thread seeking encouragement for plan B 'residents' of Betrayedville? I'd love to read it, especially since yours is an MB success. Thanks, Ace PS I'll go for the pineapple upside-down cake! (And I'll bring lawn darts to our faux picnic cuz in reality they're outlawed, I think.)

I take an MB leave of absence when I need to
or
I make a conscious decision to only post naughty/funny/silly threads
I can tell when it's time to back off when I feel the desire to ram my words down someone's throat
