Shattered:
You were very distraught yesterday (with good reason), and I hope today is better. There are people here who care... let us know how you are today. I think you need this forum more than anyone right now.

WhoDat - Oh man...thanks for caring so much. You guys are just the best. I am so touched by the support I find here...especially by your directed inquiry to me via this thread WhoDat!!
Yesterday was pure hell for me. I had to travel to Denver for business. It was the first time that I traveled since this whole charade started. I normally travel a lot for business - my boss curtailed my travel while I worked through the worst of it.
I think there were many factors contributing to my extremely depressed state of mind yesterday. First - my FIL telling me that W seems to be happy and that he's happy that she's happy. 2nd - I find stability in familiar surroundings (normal) - traveling disrupts that. 3rd - I first found out about W affair after returning from a Denver business trip - I sorta relived it on this trip.
Again, thanks for caring so much - you have no idea how much that means to me. God bless you all.

Shattered:
I think your FIL has done more to permanently destroy your relationship with him than your W has done harm to your relationship with her. You love her, see the fantasy, and will work on making your life with her work. Your FIL was just being cruel with that statement, without the least regard for your feelings.
I feel more contempt for him than I do your W. I can somewhat understand being supportive; my father was supportive of me, even as he was telling me I was being an idiot. But for him to be happy for her, and even worse, to tell you that made him happy... that just really bugs me.
Good luck, Shattered... the divorce may well happen, but your W will crash and burn. They can't be one of the 3%, since he has no intention of leaving his W.
When he dumps your wife for a newer model, make sure and get a pre-nup before you even think about taking her back.
Sorry, but that whole FIL thing really irked me.
