Affair is over, I'm sure. His feelings for her have faded and he says he doesn't have the urge to see her and doesn't plan on resuming relationship when he moves out. So I am assuming that withdrawal has ended.
He says he loves me, I am his soul mate, but he does not feel affection for me. He is pretty positive he is going to find an apartment but that he doesn't want a divorce.
Anybody have any input on how to regain that affection. He does want to have it and if you fell in love again how long did it take for you to get there.

Hi Hoping,
I can't recall your story off hand, so I'm confused as to why he is moving out. Especially when he is telling you that you're his soulmate. I can't imagine his moving out bringing you any closer. Everyone needs that affection, something I have come to learn since my ordeal started. And if he's not seeking it from you, it seems that maybe the temptation to find it elsewhere will be too great as long as he is living apart from you.

As far as regaining that affection, my advice is simple. Spend a lot of time together. Go on dates with each other, find silly things to do together that will make you laugh, cuddle on the couch with a good movie, take a bath/shower together, go for walks, sit outside at night and stare at the moon and stars, talk about the good times you have shared in the past, etc. There's no simplistic answer on how to regain those in love feelings, what works for some may not work for others. You need to do what you guys used to enjoy together. Remember the times and moments that you felt closest to one another. Repeat those times as often as possible.
Most importantly, since you're not absolutely certain he is no longer seeing the OW, your attempts may be futile if he's actually still seeing her. I'm sorry, I hate to be blunt, but if he really wants to work things out with you, the last he would do is leave to live elsewhere. What purpose is that going to serve? Making a relationship successful takes a tremendous amount of work, and that work can't be done with you two living separately. As I said, that temptation would be too great. And how are you supposed to trust him enough to open up and do the necessary work when you don't know what he's doing in his spare time? This spells too much trouble to me.
I could ramble on forever about his decision to move out, but I am getting too mad and I don't want to say anything insulting. Maybe it will work for you guys, I surely hope it will. Maybe being away from you will open his eyes. Who knows. Just don't give more than he is willing to give in return. That's the key, IMO. Good luck to you.
------------------
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.
Helen Keller
